Some parts of this messed with my head, because numbers are not my friend. Dean doesn't mind that Bobby makes them a trio, because he's not always around so it's really more like a two-and-a-half-o, and two and a half is seven, which is a good number on enough counts. I spent something like three minutes trying to figure out how two and a half make seven, and just gave up and decided to roll with it. I can understand what the numbers mean to Dean, even if I can't understand the numbers themselves, and that's more than good enough because the patterns and the rhythms that you have in here are so tied to emotion, so tied to Dean and his world view.

Two and a half is seven comes from 2.5, and 2+5 is 7. Haha arithmomania isn't necessarily a very logical form of OCD.

Oh my god, this is brilliant! I love fics like this one, they're so interesting to read and you really have to be "in" the story to understand what you read, you can't just skim through it.
This one is so far one of the better I've ever read, the wording and the numbers and just everything about it so far is amazing. I can't remember last time a fic entertained and kept my attention like this one!
The 3 thing kind of freaked me out a little when I started read, 'cause I have something similar only my fixation is on the 3 in a good way. 3 is my favourite number and the other numbers kind of annoys me. Anyway, this is great and I shall resume reading now.
Thank you for writing this, you're awesome ~

This is great. It's really well written and the arithromania is a very different concept from anything I've read before. It's fascinating to me, because usually I identify super strongly with Sam, and while I don't have "the numbers thing" nearly as strongly as Dean does in this, it feels like it makes sense to me & I do similar counting and mathematical sequences/computations in my head, especially when I'm trying to calm down or when I'm bored. So at first I was hesitant, wondering if it could really be in character for Dean. But as I began to see how deeply it connected with Dean's anxiety (which is solidly cannon) it started to make sense to me. Basically, it made me think about the character differently, which is probably one of the coolest things a fic can do. I'm really excited to read the rest.
