I watched S3 and 4 of The Thick of It recently (I meant to wait until Christmas but couldn't resist). I haven't seen S1 and 2, but I loved these ones. Other TV seems kind of blah by comparison.

This is me very pointedly not twirling around and flailing and throwing myself dramatically on the floor over the wonderfulness of The Thick of It.

Because I hear that's off-putting.

IT WAS AMAZING. I'm watching S1 now. All of the kind of heinous characters I care about anyway!

It's so clever and fast-moving and I'm struggling to think of any other programme that does anything similar.

I haven't seen a single episode of 'The Thick of it' but I saw 'In the Loop' - the film spin-off - and I loved it. I really must watch the series some time. It strikes me as a modern, and rather more vicious - but equally funny - equivalent of 'Yes Minister', which I really liked as a child.

Oh, I would definitely recommend it. I jumped in with S3 and found it easy to get into. The first ever episode hadn't really hit its stride yet, so fewer laughs, but the rest of S1 is really good. I've never seen Yes Minister... which makes me feel young.
