because it's like Cass is becoming a projection of everyone who's important to him, and that's what makes the sex so good and so harrowing at the same time. (This is totally just my personal interpretation, but I like it that way so, lol, that's what I'm choosing to believe it means.)
And also, He leaves her dancing alone in the back of the club, puts in a call to Jal to come pick her up, because he knows how it's going to end. Same as it always does. because the sticking quality of that last line is off the charts, if you get what I'm trying to say. Poor Cassie.

And yes, yes, all your interpretations are correct and, indeed, what I was aiming for. Tony and Cassie don't really have a specific relationship of their own, their emotional meeting point is in reflections of other people - which doesn't make their dynamic any less interesting or fun to write about. :D
