Whether I could call it 'canon' hinges entirely on my understanding of what Uchihacest is, so I feel like I should specify here.
If you mean 'cest as actual sexual acts or impulses, then no, I don't think it's canon.
If you accept the passionate intertwining of rage and idoletry and love and hate and need and jealousy upon which hinges self-identity, strength, acceptance and acknowledgement, and see that intertwining as being as deep, frantic, and consuming as any torrid sexual affair (possibly even deeper because of the emotionally fraught tension that has almost no physical outlet the majority of the time)...then yes, I'd say that's quite canonical. ^__^
"Incest" can be pretty broad-ranging term, after all.

I prefer the sharper edges of the relationship, myself. I want to see the pairing seethe...for precisely the reasons listed above. It's not the sex that interests me; it's the emotional riptide of their bond that's fascinating.

I'm glad to see people hold an actual opinion and have had their share of thoughts on why they like what they do.
Really well written, I agree most of the way. I'm just rather split concerning the sex topic.
Personally I believe itachi would be easily seduced by sasuke, because to me he appears to have been craving his full attention ... like all his life. Owning him. Having him live for his sake. XD Sasuke is far beyond family to his brother.

but then again naruto as a whole is ... well ... a pretty asexual anime and /as you described pretty fitting/ what there is between Itachi and Sasuke is the closest to mad desire anyway.

...yeah, I'm pretty sure that'd be against dA's ToS. And if memory serves, the katakana says "Itachi". ^_^ I agree, it's amazing.

As a romantic/sexual couple, it's not canon... at this point there aren't any canon couples (except for Mikoto and Fugaku, but they're kinda dead.) And I like all kinds of Uchihacest... everything from fluffy pre-massacre/AU, to the deep psychologocal-type fics, to the blatantly violent and non-con. I don't discriminate in my Uchihacest love. ^_~

Second of all: I ALWAYS wanted to hear someone with a brother comment on itasasu. Actually I believed this would be some sort of contraindication. XD.

I totally agree on the itachi part ... he SO wants to die by sasuke's hand. But to be honest I don't believe Sasuke likes him far as much as you discribe. He was craving his father's attention and was a bit disturbed by itachi's existence. maybe it was because I saw the anime first ... but somehow... Sasuke was always talking about their father when together with itachi and latter only concentrated on him ... like "No, it's ok, I'm gonna carry you on" and "Are you disgusted by me?" and "Sasuke this, Sasuke that". Sasuke never struck me as the itachi~fan. I mean he did find him amazing for his skills, but who doesn't?

Don't get me wrong I so hope to be corrected with a good counter argument here. ;) but that's how I see things.

I pretty much echo the sentiments of the above--it's not canon, but from what exists in the manga/anime it's not exactly a stretch either. Fluffy Uchihacest post-massacre is kinda 'wtf Oo;'. After the clan slaughter, though, Sasuke has this wonderful love/hate thing going with Itachi, which I really love.

Probably helps that it makes for really forceful sex, too. :3

I don't know, with Uchihacest you get scary fanfics, and non scary fanfics. The scary ones usually have Itachi cheerfully breaking Sasuke some more nd the non-scary ones are usually AU or pre-massacre. I just think it's pretty, and for canon it would be Narusasu and KisaIta, but that's just my opinion :)
