Once again, there's a lot going on for one little issue. We've got the backstory of Nate/Kang, we've got the introduction of Cassie and character development all over the place. Also, some foreshadowing with Eli's impending MGH issues and maybe a nod to what might be going down with Ant-Man soon.
Ayup. When I got the trades, I was completely unspoilt for the MGH storyline, so when I saw that scene, it was all, *spidey sense* and, "I hope that child isn't going to do anything stupid!" (I've got ten years and change on Eli, I can say that).
Heinberg did a great job giving everyone a clear voice and as much as I love the epic story we're getting currently, I hope we get some more moments of the team trying to just quietly trying to figure their stuff out because that is the stuff that makes me love them.
Same! Granted, at the start of YA:TCC, we did get an inkling of the bond (when they break the guys out) and Eli's true nature coming out. But yeah, the epic set pieces are such that it almost overpowers the personal.

As in, really meet Kate Bishop here. Her father is demanding that they be seen to, and Kate is all, "No, I'm cool." She shows grace here, isn't a brat (even when she hears the off hand comments re: her wealth

I really think Kate is destined to be the Boss of Everyone someday because she is all poise all the time and really, we could use that in charge of SHIELD or something.
Had I any talents in the graphic line, I would icon that picture of the boys, with Dangerously Unhip scrawled across it.

Kate Bishop is so going to lead the Avengers in the future. She's like the female Tony Stark - but in a lot of ways, she will be better. Even her wealth (Bishop publishing) is a nod to the new, modern world.
Why can't someone write Kate Bishop in a future fic! as the leader of the Avengers don't prompt me, I'd have to drop everything and write it.
