Title: This Book Costs More in Canada
Rating: G
Word Count: 230 or thereabouts
Summary: For the Longmire Fic Challenge. Billy and Tommy celebrate their birthday.

“Whoa.” Tommy turned the hardback book back over so that he could look at the front cover again.

“I know. I really think you’ll like the H2G2 series.” Billy smiled smugly at his choice for Tommy’s birthday present. Tommy’d gotten him a present too, one of Cap’s shirts signed by almost every superhero but Captain America. “Ford Prefect kind of reminds me of you.”

“Cool. The whole series is in this one book?” Tommy opened up the cover to study the inside flap on the book jacket. “Blah blah blah... dolphins... blah blah blah... Zaphod?” He flipped the book over and scanned the back cover. “Hey, you forgot to get rid of the price tag. There you go.”

“Funny.” Billy rubbed at his forehead, where Tommy’d stuck the price tag. “It didn’t really cost that much, I got it at a used bookstore.”

“Hey, did you know this book costs more in Canada?” Tommy’s eyes gleamed, just like that time with the cat. Billy carefully rescued the precious volume from Tommy’s hands.

“Well, yeah. But it’s really the same value there as it is here-- you’re not listening.”

By now, Tommy was slowly rubbing his hands together. “I could take it over the border and hock it for the Canadian money, then come back here and buy an ipod! Or maybe something even cooler...”
