It's not just this. It's Loki too. I don't think I could bear to see him degenerate himself into a demotion. And... this Jack... I don't want to see what he's going to do to himself either. And I cannot help this time. I haven't the right.

Armand, you can't hide from him forever. And would your Jack really want you too? Armand, love, mon ami, you cannot live your life in fear.

No, I can't. Hence the thought of going home.

And as much as I loved the Jack that left, and cannot help loving this one for the same reasons... a person who isn't on his list of people Jack Harkness cares about is in danger of his life. So I'm afraid of him.

This isn't like with Rose. The Rose Tyler I knew best was using me, to get at the Doctor. It's more than obvious now. But the Rose that's here now, she's a strong young lady. She can take care of herself, without the Doctor and without me as a friend or an anything. She doesn't need anyone.

Since when does Jack Harkness listen even to his friends when he has his heart set on destruction? He pushes you all away as far as he can, even those of you whom he loves. He needs someone who won't be driven away by the even the worst threats, and I cannot do that this time. Do you think you could?
