Personality:As a person his ability has effected his outlook and way of life from the start. It ostracized him from other people, this has made him very awkward with others. Crowds of people make him nervous and he can become very self conscious. Generally he doesn't have to deal with that though, as he's used to people avoiding him for being "diseased" looking. Also, since his ability has allowed him to be very close with youkai, that also effects his outlook on things. He is most comfortable with them, and thus has never really developed good people skills having surounded himself with youkai

Kantarou also acts rather immature for his age. He speaks childishly, which can be most obviously seen in how he refers to himself. He uses the word "boku" and it is written in katakana to emphasis his childish use. He will also speak in a childish way acting "cute". This is not all the time though (but he does always refer to himself with "boku"), and will adopt are more serious adult tone when talking of important things, or explaining superstitions and where they came from. During these points it's usually pointed out by his friends that "I forget you really are a scholar". The childish act falls into his outward facade, and part of the wall he builds around himself.
