I think PSP is cool as a portable gadget in that Sony's really pushing the file format for movies and such. I go into Target and am surprised to see a whole section for PSP movies. Still, I doubt it's going to catch on, and Sony's tactics are just not smart enough. (They should study the iPod phenomenon!)

LOVE the DS Lite. Man, I just got over not wanting it anymore, but then I clicked on your link and I want one again T_T I like the Enamel Navy, too!!! In the end, I probably won't get it (my white import one has served me well; I don't play enough games to justify getting a new one) but it sure is fun to look at the DS Lite :D If you get one I'll definitely check it out when I next visit!!!

Uh, I guess I wasn't that clear about why the PSP is a cool gadget...I mean, the idea is cool, to have a high-quality portable screen. It's an alternative to bringing your laptop on plane rides to watch movies. Still, it's just so impractical due to battery life and all. Sony, keep going back to the drawing board!!!

I'll definately get a NDS Lite but I'll wait for the US release.

Yeah, I go into Fry's and I see a whole section just for PSP movies. About half of PSP UMD sales are movies. I don't get it. For a few dollars more, you can get a DVD instead. For portable movies, I much prefer it on my PDA.

One thing Sony got right is the styling. IMO, they are still being too arrogant and continue to insist on their own format.

I cleaned up my room last week and found my PSP with a thick layer of dust on it somewhere in the corner of my room. I've dusted it off and now it sits in a plastic bin with a bunch of my other games I won't play for a long time.

On the flipside, my DS sits in my laptop bag and goes everywhere with me. So, I'll definitely be getting the NDSlite when it comes stateside. :)

That is an interesting article on Sony's possible demise. I'm not a Sony hater, but I can see a lot of valid points there. Though, to be honest, the Xbox 360 may not succeed as well ... I mean, last month, NO new games came out for the system at all... Games make the system. The wow of hi-def graphics wears off really fast. If Rev can do what DS did with handheld gaming, I'm pretty sure I know what system I'll be supporting. (though most likely I'll get all 3 :P)

Microsoft is loaded. That's the #1 reason why I'd bet on them. They'll just dump more money into the Xbox 360 until it succeeds. They'll buy out exclusives, take over third parties and bully the competition. Their XBox 360 live looks very impressive right now. I think Nintendo is smart. Rather than play the technology war and fight with better graphics and effect, they go the innovation route. Their innovations is their strength but can also be a fatal weakness. *cough* Virtual Boy, Activator, Power Glove, U-Force, Max Pad and Super Scope *end cough*. PS3 seems to put too much emphasis on having the best graphics and technology. I do believe games makes the system, but most games nowadays are availble on all plateforms. The exception being companies own but the big 3 or companies paid not to release on other consoles. I think Nintendo has the upper hand in this one since their in-house developers kicks ass.

I am ALL OVER this DS lite. It's definitely what the DS should have looked like to begin with! ARGH!

Too bad it's not coming out for a while... I'm still tripping on whether to buy a DS now so that I can play Electroplankton, or wait until the lite comes out.

ICE BLUE for me, baby!

If you can't wait.. get the import that comes out early next month. =D

I'm sure the domestic version will be out shortly afterwards... since they don't want competition from imports.

Great article. I agree that the companies are putting too much emphasis on the blu-ray/hd-dvd aspect when the vast majority of average consumers have no stake in it.

I'm just hoping that Tekken on PS3 will have online play - so I don't have to leave home for competition.

Then next big feature war seems to be online play. Xbox 360 is already off to a good start. I heard PS3 is going to copy it and improve. I'd be shock if Tekken doesn't have online play on PS3.
