The group of boys is playing truth or dare, and it’s Yoochun’s turn. His friends are being cruel again, and he knows he can’t answer the question they have ready if he says truth, so his only option is dare. He pouts as he says it, annoyed that they have this small amount of power over him. Besides, aren’t they a little old for this game? Jaejoong smirks, and suddenly Yoochun wishes he had picked truth after all.
“Alright, I dare you to kiss Junsu.” There is an immediate silence following the statement, and half the group is staring at Yoochun while the rest are watching Junsu, who is now facing Jaejoong with his mouth dropped open in shock. Yoochun doesn’t move.
“But Jae-“
“On the lips.” Jaejoong quickly adds, cutting off his protest. Junsu jaw drops farther if possible and Jaejoong is secretly wishing the boy will still have his mouth open when Yoochun gives in, because he will give in. Changmin lets out an exasperated sigh.
“Come on hyung, no one wants to see that. Pick something else.”
“Close your eyes then.” Is Jaejoong’s only answer. He knows he might be going a little too far with this, but Yoochun needs to get over it. “Or, Yoochun can always refuse. But you know what that means…” Yoochun swallows uncomfortably, then slowly turns his head toward Junsu. He knows that under any other circumstance Junsu would never let him do this, so it occurs to him that now is probably a good moment since the guy’s attention is still fixed on Jaejoong. After a second more of hesitation, Yoochun moves.
He reaches a hand up to Junsu’s cheek and turns the boy’s face toward him, planting a kiss right on his mouth before the guy realizes what’s happening. He pulls back quickly, tongue swiping over his lips self-consciously, hand still hovering near Junsu’s stunned face. And then Junsu punches him in the chest, hard.
Yoochun coughs, bending over, and Junsu gets quickly to his feet, blushing furiously as he makes his way to the door and heads outside. Jaejoong is shaking his head while Yoochun struggles to regain a normal breathing pattern.
30 minutes later Junsu is still outside sulking, and Yoochun can’t stand it anymore. He excuses himself to go to the bathroom, but they all know he’s really headed outside anyway. When he gets to the sliding glass door he hesitates. What if Junsu punches him again? He stares through the glass, watching Junsu watch the stars. It takes a full two minutes for Yoochun to pull himself together enough to open the door and slip out onto the deck.
Junsu hears him instantly, whirling to face him with a dangerous glare set in place.
“Don’t come anywhere near me.” Yoochun feels his shoulders sink an inch or so. He had hoped this wouldn’t matter that much, but something told him he’d just stolen the boy’s first kiss.
“But Su…”
“Don’t call me Su either.” Junsu shudders slightly. “I can’t believe you actually… No, I don’t even want to talk about it.” Yoochun sighs, resigned to his fate. With this kind of a reaction, he knows their friendship will take at least a week to be back to normal. He walks forward anyway, leaning on the railing a few feet away from Junsu, staring out at nothing in particular.
“Sorry Su.” His voice sounds so depressed it surprises even him. For a moment neither says anything, then he hears Junsu release a soft breath.
“Did I… I didn’t punch you too hard did I? You just surprised me is all.” Yoochun shakes his head, though he knows a bruise is building under his shirt.
“No, s’fine.” A pause. “You don’t hate me for that right? I mean we’ll still be friends and everything? You I didn’t mean anything, it was just a dare. And you know Jae’s punishments are always terrible-“
“I know.” Yoochun’s rambling again, and Junsu cuts him off. Another brief pause follows. “But that’s why I…” Junsu touches his lips lightly with his fingers, a thoughtful look on his face. Yoochun looks at him, a confused expression on his face.
“Huh?” Junsu shakes his head, but responds with a different question altogether.
“Do you think you could try it again?” His voice is so quiet it almost isn’t there. Yoochun’s eyes widen.
“What?”
“Do you think you could try it again. Just to see… Just… Without all of them watching…” Junsu isn’t really sure why he’s asking. He doesn’t know what he wants really, but a bizarre hope is suddenly burning in Yoochun’s chest. He stands up off the railing, his steps careful, slow, as he approaches Junsu.
His friend isn’t looking at him, so when Junsu finally turns he is surprised by their proximity. This time Yoochun uses both hands, resting them gently on Junsu’s cheeks, smoothing the heated skin with his thumbs before leaning down to kiss him again. He is more careful this time, and he knows that Junsu is leaning into it a little this time. Then Junsu’s body stiffens, suddenly tense again, and Yoochun gets another surprise punch to the stomach. Bruise number two, and counting.
Junsu watches wide eyed as Yoochun bends over coughing, just as much shocked by his actions as Yoochun.
“Oh god, I punched you again. Are you ok? I’m sorry I just… I don’t know what happened. Yoochun…” Yoochun just waves him off, recovering his breath and leaning his hands on his knees. From this position he looks up, shaking his head. Junsu packs a good punch with those skinny arms, he thinks ruefully. Junsu himself is flustered, blushing bright red again and trying not to look at Yoochun. That’s when it occurs to him.
“Junsu., are you gay?” The question causes Junsu to freeze in shock, but his lack of a response is an obvious answer. Yoochun almost laughs. So that’s why Jaejoong was being so difficult about it. While Junsu is still standing there mentally freaking out Yoochun stands up and pulls him against his chest, wrapping warm arms around his slim body. Junsu immediately struggles, and this time Yoochun does laugh.
“Are you afraid of me or something? You know I’m gay too right?” Junsu still struggles, but his attempts are not nearly as forceful as the two punches.
“Yoochun, stop it, I’m not-“ but it’s too late. It’s useless to cling to the secret now. Yoochun frees one hand only to use it to grab Junsu’s chin and hold his head still.
“Don’t punch me this time.” That’s all the warning Junsu gets, before their lips meet for the third time. The kiss is different now though, because now Yoochun is sure of himself, and it seems to work as Junsu finds himself calming down. They separate from the kiss but rest their foreheads together instead. Yoochun opens his mouth to speak, but is interrupted by an annoyingly familiar voice.
“Don’t do anything dirty out there. We have neighbors you know.” Yoochun looks up to see Jaejoong leaning casually against the now open glass door, the rest of the guys making faces behind him. He feels Junsu tense instantly in his arms, but this time instead of punching him the boy wraps his arms around him tightly, hiding his face in Yoochun’s neck, his full weight resting on Yoochun’s sturdy frame. Yoochun rolls his eyes at Jaejoong.
“Yeah, yeah. You win. Ruin the moment why don’t you.” Jaejoong smiles.
“Already did.” Yoochun responds by sticking his tongue out, then looks down at the boy in his arms. He jostles him gently.
“Hey. Want to spend the night at my place?” Junsu turns his head so he can glare up at Yoochun.
“Pervert. We’re not even dating.” Yoochun quirks an eyebrow.
“I can fix that.” Then he chuckles lightly. “That wasn’t what I meant though. You look tired, and my house is closer.” Junsu maintains his glare, but it’s clear the idea appeals to him.
“I’m going to kill you later.” The threat is empty, but amusing. Yoochun smiles as Junsu snuggles into his shoulder. “Mmmm. I’ll spend the night if you carry me.” This is something Yoochun isn’t expecting, and it makes him pause for a minute, trying to figure out if he could actually manage that. After a second of thought he decides it’s worth it to try. Reaching down he sweeps Junsu’s feet out from under him, earning himself a surprised squeak. He stumbles a little, but Junsu isn’t that heavy and he quickly settles the boy comfortably in his arms.
Junsu is breathing a little more rapidly against his neck, obviously surprised again.
“I wasn’t being serious.” The boy mumbles, but he adjusts his arms so they wrap around Yoochun’s neck, and burrows closer. They make it a block that way before Yoochun complains about Junsu being heavy and they end up alternately chasing each other down the hill.
