Title: Because I like you. (part 5 of 8) (Story 1 of 7)
Pairing: Yoosu (main focus), Jaeho
Rating: PG.
Summery: In his own words Kim Junsu tell us about the day after the day he meet Micky Yoochun, why tell of this day? Because the for three second on Monday, Junsu didn’t act like himself. And all through out Tuesday, our Junsu was a whole new man.
A/N: Basically I woke up early/never went to sleep becasue its my Birthday and I act five when it comes to my birthday, so to pass the morng hours away, I worte the next part.
And yes the only reason for telling you that was to tell you it's my birthday :P.
In the past:
one two three four I ran into my Chemistry class, and I slid right into the first lab table. Again, my stomach would have been in immense pain if it hadn’t been for my quick hand reflexes.
BEEEEEEEEEP. Pure joy spread through me. I practically floated to my seat.
“...and ruin that face, look at him, he’s down right beaming.” Eunhyuk, who sits in front of me was “whispering” (that boy never learned how to whisper) to Lee Donghae, who sits next to him. I didn’t need to guess as to who they were talking about. Heck, I didn’t need to hear them talking at all to figure it out, not with the sad glances Eunhyuk kept giving me. I might as well ease their troubled minds.
“You tell him, he’s your best friend.”
“Yeah, but it might not sound as bad if it comes from someone he’s not as close to.”
“Isn’t it the other way around, that it’s not as bad when it comes from a close friend?” Eunhyuk thought on it for a second.
“Maybe... but you’re better at giving bad news then I am.”
“What makes you say that?”
“The fact that I don’t want to tell him, is what.” I chose then, to cut in.
“Guys, you don’t have to bother I already know about Joo Eun.”
“How did you know we were talking about you?” Donghae asked. I just stared at him, with a “well duh now” look.
“But you came into the class so happy, aren’t you worried that you could lose your girl to the new guy?” Eunhyuk asked. No, because I know for a fact that she’s gonna get rejected.
“No, I’m not worried, in fact, I already had a nice chat with Micky, and he told me...”
“Micky?” Questioned Donghae.
“That’s Park Yoo Chun’s other name.” Answered Eunhyuk.
“He has two names?”
“Yeah, I thought it was weird at first too, but I think one of them is just his nickname.”
“Which one?”
“Micky, his nickname is Micky.” I said, finally getting myself back into the conversation before those two started a gab fest.
“You’re calling your love rival by his nickname?” Asked Donghae.
“He’s not my love rival.”
“But you’re both going after the same girl.” Eunhyuk pointed out.
“No, we’re not, he’s not even interested in Joo Eun.”
“Who said that?” Again, Eunhyuk.
“He did.”
“And you believed him!?” For a half a second I thought... yeah, why should I believe that, but then I remembered why he said he wasn’t interested in her.
“He’s interested in someone else.” I really shouldn’t have said that. In a second, I saw the error of having spoken, and I knew what was coming next. I braced for it. I also tried to think of an answer, but even as Eunhyuk and Donghae, and for some reason the girl who sits next to me all asked at the same time, “WHO?”, I still didn’t have an answer. So I said the next best thing.
“I don’t know.” Now, I knew why I was lying to Donghae and the girl sitting next to me... Kwan Shin Min was her name, but why to my best friend. Why didn’t I want to tell him that Park Yoochun said he liked me? Part of me said it WAS because I was around other people, but another part said if that were true then why hadn’t I told him this morning at ten minute break, heck, why didn’t I tell him while we were talking online last night? I mean, the first time Micky said he liked me was yesterday, in the bathroom... I was about to change my answer to “I’ll tell you later.” but...
“But, I think you do.” The voice behind me said. I turned around. Sungmin sits behind me. It took me a few seconds to comprehend what he said, or at least what it meant. Boy he works fast. But did he know, how could he? Wait, what if someone else was there in the bathroom yesterday?
“What do you know?”
“Why were you almost last to class, Junsu?” He answered with a question.
“Yes, please, Jun Su, why don’t you and Sung Min, come up to the front of the class, and tell all of us, why you were almost late to class.” Mr. Kim Sarg Chin said. He was standing by my desk. How someone so old could move that quickly, was beyond me. The fastest any of us have seen him go was a speed that can only be described as a “scurry”. He also had a habit of randomly throwing people out of class, just for talking.
So, after Sungmin and I said our sorrys to both the teacher and the class, we were then told to go and continue our conversation out in the hall, and when we felt we were done, only then, could we come back in. Boy, I wasn’t doing much learning today. As we walked out, Mr. Kim turned his attention to Eunhyuk and Donghae, he said he hadn’t missed the little “whispering” session that had gone on while he was teaching. But since their conversation seemed to have ended, they can just write a two page paper on the importance of chemistry in everyday life, instead. It was due Friday. I would have rather gotten a paper assignment as well, because as a rule, anyone that is told to leave the classroom, is then “written up”, the toll for getting “written up” is receiving two demerits. In fact, the only rule that deals out more then two demerits is when there is a fight. Arguments are six demerits, and a physical fight earns you 5 hours of sitting in school, and writing on a Saturday morning, no matter what.
I was not having a good day by any means. I had just gotten kicked out of class. A first for me. Though there have been times where I’ve been late to school (you try getting four guys out of a house at the same time everyday, it not as easy as it seems... not with Dad always hogging the bathroom).
Once out in the hall, Sungmin repeated his question. “Why were you almost late to class?” I was kinda hoping we could just stand here.
“Because I was talking with Micky, like I said to Eunhyuk and Donghae, I had a talk with him, and he said he wasn’t interested in Joo Eun, and because we were talking I was almost late to class.” He still looked like he didn’t believe me. “It’s the truth!” I added.
“Okay, I believe you.” No, he didn’t.
“Then why are you still looking at me like that?”
“Well, I’m just trying to figure something out, and maybe you can help me. See, if what you’re telling is the truth...”
“It is!”
“Right, and if it is, then I’m trying to figure out how, in a conversation about how he’s not interested in a girl, turned into confessions of love, on both your parts.” My mouth dropped open.
“How...”
“You did realize your teacher was still in the room, right, or was the only thing you could see was him.” He finished with an evil... very evil grin. My day keeps getting weirder, and more messed up as it went on. And now I’ve got the school gossiper thinking I’m gay. Great! NOT!
“No, it wasn’t like that.”
“Xiah, don’t lie to me, she HEARD Yoochun say he loved you.” What? When? I don’t recall... well I thought I did, but he said that he said something... else... so he really did say that! Out LOUD SO A TEACHER OVERHEARD!! Did he want people to know? Well, if he wanted that, then when he tells Joo Eun off today, he will probably mention his liking towards me then too, right.... wait, love?
“Loved me? I thought he only liked me?”
“So it’s true?,” Sungmin went wide eyed. “For half a second there I was beginning to believe that your English teacher was just pulling my leg, but he really does like you, like, “Like like” you?” I should have kept denying it.
By why? It’s not like I like him back or anything, who cares if he likes me? Or if people know it? And yet, I still felt like this was something I didn’t want getting around the whole school.
“Sungmin, you have to keep this between us.” Sungmin frowned and looked at the ground. My eyes widened. I grabbed him by the shoulders. “Sweet Pumpkin, what did you do?”
“It’s not me, but think about it, Xiah, he’s the new kid, the guy the whole school’s been talking about since school began, you're one of the “Fantastic Four”. This is big news and teachers, as a rule, almost talk to each about nothing BUT the lives of the students here. Our drama is their entertainment. Now, do you really think something like this is going to stay quiet for long?” I really wished I wasn’t popular at that moment.
“What are the chances that no one believes it?” It still seemed pretty unbelievable to me and I was there.
“I’m not sure, yet, but...” Someone came out of the Korean classroom (room X). It was Joo Eun.
Of course.
She looked quite shocked to see us.
“Hello, Opas, what are you two doing out here?” She asked. Any other day, and I would have literally bounced over to her and reenacted the interesting happenings of my day. I would have her smiling and laughing at my antics, and then she would say something sweet, and then she would ask how my brothers are doing, and I would reply that they are doing “very well”, and she would be like “I am happy to hear that’”, or something as equally as thoughtful, and...
“Oh, that is very unfair of your Seongsaengnim.” She said.
“Yeah, but since when is Mr. Sarg Chin fair?” Sungmin replied. It seems that Sungmin had already explained to her what happened.
“Are you well, Junsu opa, you do not seem like yourself today?” She’s so considerate of other people. I guess I was feeling a little out of it, now that she asked, though after seeing her I was beginning to feel a bit better. But something was still off.
“Oh, I’m all right, I’ve just had a bit of a rough start today is all.”
“Oh yeah, I heard you were kicked around by Eminem opa’s gang this morning, and Park Yoo Chun opa was there, and Kwon Dae Min and Kwon Dae Shin said they saw Park Yoo Chun opa leave the nurse’s office a short while after.” Micky went to the nurse's office? Oh wait, that's right, he needed to use the restroom. Restroom... CHANGE SUBJECT.
“Ahhh, no, it was nothing like that...” The door to her Korean class opened, again. And do I really need to say who it was... I mean with the way today was going.
“You wanted to ask me something, Jung Joo Eun?” He asked.
“Oh. Park Yoo Chun opa, I was beginning to wonder if you would even come out.”
“Your note said to wait five minutes, so I did.” She smiled. He tilted his head. Waiting. This was it. I looked around and down the hall, I could see various heads poking out of the doorway. How long have people been watching us? And was that Mom in the doorway of the third classroom on the right? The enthusiastic wave sent my way told me that is was. Great. But how long have they been watching?
“Maybe we should go somewhere more private.” Joo Eun said. Well it was more like suggested it. Micky Yoochun looked right at me after she said that.
“It’s all right, you guys do what you have to, just pretend we’re not here.” Sungmin said. Joo Eun looked over at us. I could see her eyes scan the people who were undoubtedly still peeping behind us.
Micky Yoochun was still looking right at me.
“Jung Joo Eun, I know why you asked me out here.”
“You do?” She turned all of her attention back towards him. He finally tore his eyes away from mine, and looked at her.
“Yes, and I’m sorry to say that I am not interested in dating you.” I heard several little gasps behind me.
“Oh, I see.” She said. She pouted.
“No, no you don’t," Wait, it wasn’t done. “Jung Joo Eun, I have been watching you this past week, and to me you seem like a very sweet, kind, and considerate person, who always seems to know what to say and do and if I may say so, you seem, well perfect, and I’m more interested in someone who is less then perfect. Someone who slips up once and a while and doesn’t always know what to say or do. Understand?” I was waiting for him to look back at me, more then I was for Joo Eun’s response. He was talking about me in that last part, wasn’t he? His speech was followed by a few “awwww’s” behind me, as well as some incoherent whispering.
Micky Yoochun wouldn’t look at me.
“Of course, of course I understand Yoo Chun opa, and I thank you for your kind words, and hope that someday soon you do find a girl like that, she shall be a very lucky girl to have won your affections, oppa.” Micky smiled then.
“You're very sweet, and there’s no need for you to waste your hopes on me, for I believe I have already found someone.”
“Oh really, opa, who, if you do not mind my asking?”
“I’m saddened to say that I do mind, now, if you would excuse me, I have already gotten into trouble for staying out of class for too long today, and I don’t want receive any further demerits.” With that he bowed, and walked back into his Korean class. (Dramatic much?) The sounds of many doors shutting were heard. I looked back to my own class and Eunhyuk waved to me through the little rectangle window. I looked back and watched as Joo Eun gave me a small smile and then headed into her class as well. I then followed Sungmin back into ours.
From the moment he started giving her his little speech, Micky hadn’t looked back at me once. Not once. And for some reason I was bothered by that.
