I've been moderately surprised by the number of people who want the situation "resolved," and by resolved they mean Israel should stop being intransigent and cease their ongoing violence and . . . what? Just up and move somewhere else?
No matter how personal it is, and believe you me it's a bit more personal for me if only because I know a lot more people in those cities it's unfortunately a part of the reality here, but not because of what's going on lately, because of the disfuntctional politics in the region in general and in Israel in particular...I'll explain more in some weeks when I'm back.
Absolutely, I'm not even going to argue with you. Stan and I were talking about this last night while driving and not even the people who foam at the mouth in their "desire for peace" are able to suggest a viable, sustainable solution.
I can't tell you how upset I have been this last week. The number and fervor of the anti-Israel segment of the population is depressing and infuriating. Every pro-Israel article I read brings tears to my eyes just because it is so nice (!) to see that not everyone is against us...
