Monthly events
So my friend Dave's partner, Josh....well, I guess he's my friend too, but whatever....so Josh organizes a gay happy hour once a month at this straight bar in Oakland very close to my work. They invite all the choir people and some friends from some of their other circles, and of course its like the more the merrier ( Read more... ) -

April
I started this as a draft in late April, apparently, and didn't post it.Had my choir concert the last two weekends....it went well, I guess. The music was fun to sing, I'm not sure I would enjoy listening to it as an audience member, but we definitely sounded great. Excerpts from a sent email make for an easy journal update....
Mom is doing well. She had a rough time for awhile but is doing much better. There was an issue with her medication - they prescribed her Lyrica and it made her start hallucinating and something she was taking didn't mix well with her blood pressure meds so it make her blood pressure drop or something crazy like that. My green thumb
So, I've managed to accomplish something here that I attempted several times in Chicago: keep an orchid plant alive long enough for it to re-bloom! Perhaps I'm speaking too soon, because there aren't actually any blooms yet, but every day this one stem keeps getting bigger and bigger and our plant vendor keeps telling me it is coming!
