We didn't exactly prepare for this http://www.hickorycon.com/home.html. I just happened to find out about it while I was Facebooking on 365 Things to do in Hickory and there it was. The entrance fee was pretty cheap and we haven't planned anything special on the day so I thought hey why not? And so we did. Apparently Duston also ( Read more... )

Yay! Thank you for blogging about it ! Oh man I cannot imagine a con without music! On the other hand, it does sound more conducive for nerdy discussions, at least wala nang effort ilakas ang boses pag naguusap para tapatan ang loud music. Walang naka recognize kay Doraemon???? Did you get the feeling that congoers, cosplayers, exhibitors and organizers is collectively a close knit community like the early days of conventions in the PH? Thank so much for taking the time to write this Aish, I felt myself transported in hickory while reading it. A very interesting perspective, I suddenly miss going to cons, but I don't like the kidn of cons we're ha ng here in recent years, alam mo yan hehe. I miss the AE days :)

You're welcome and thank you so much for taking the time to read it too. I cannot imagine a con without any music either so this is the first time ever. I thought it was impossible but they did it. No music. LOL

Kid, no one recognized him. I know.

Yeah, I agree. I too miss the AE days. It's just not the same anymore. After my last cosplay in 2006, nag-iba na talaga ang atmosphere. Perhaps the changes are so magnified now kasi di na ako masyadong aktibo tulad noon.
