If the Wii is new and hasn't been updated then it probably doesn't have WPA firmware. Try downgrading to WEP and see if that works. Alternatively, try looking for a USB-ethernet connector and wire the thing in. Just make sure it's Wii certified otherwise it wont work. As I found out...
