where fear and dreams must collide

So, last night I had the following thought:

GUYS

IT'S ALREADY TWO WEEKS INTO THE NEW YEAR

OF THE GENERALLY ACCEPTED FIRST YEAR OF THE SECOND DECADE OF THE 21ST CENTURY

WHERE DID ALL THE TIME GO?????

...Anyway, I reported this so that the following meme won't be as lonely:

Reply to this post, and I'll tell you one reason why I like you. Then ( Read more... )

Primarily "I was going to get a lot done by early January which is not done and it's already into the late half of January." But as a secondary matter:

Yeah, really. I've wondered what happened to all that time... And then I remember: WORK. *sniffle*

...Haha, this probably explains a lot.

MEME: Good grief, woman, how smart are you, anyway? You throw smart characters around off people and places that pull no punches and they still come off as if they're smarter than everyone else. I've tried playing smart characters and bombed, so I know it's not something that can happen accidentally. Albert's been around continuously for years and he still has that vibe where, if I were a Luceti citizen and unaware of his canon history, I'd trust his leadership pretty much unquestioningly (assuming he didn't suddenly give really bad orders).

I get this when people talk about the 90s. They're like "Man, that wasn't popular since '95!" and I'm like "Yeah so? That was just a few years ago." Except it was like 15 years ago holy cow.

I know what you mean! I used to almost have this feeling like we were still in the '90s and calling it 200x was just something people made up.

MEME: Man, I love your fun ideas. ...I guess I should expand on this before you get the impression that only some of your ideas are fun and I don't enjoy the rest. It's not like I don't like your writing in general, but I really love your "fun" stuff like your..."bouncy" ideas? Like, energetic, "whee!" sort of stuff. Like Norma pretty much anything! Or Rau picking up chicks and getting chased out by a broom-wielding father! The Wonder Baker! That sort of...non-angsty Legendia-type vibe of YEAH THIS IS A GREAT TIME. .......I really shouldn't try to describe things while half-asleep, should I? I just really like your lighthearted stuff! There, wow, that is a much better way of putting it.

if by "she" you mean "your mom" and the past tense is for "last night"

MEME: you're fat

MEME: No, seriously, you're great to not have to worry about offending you. Much of the time, we can say whatever and know that it's not going to be taken seriously back and forth. It's almost liberating for a cautious guy like me.

At the end of every month as I drove home with Mama from school, Mama would say, "Hey, it's almost time for the new month!"

And then I would realize that. And I would say, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA."

Nobody told me "Hey, it's almost the new year!" last month. So I still don't really know it's 2010 yet.

Haha, the last half of last year with my brain about two months behind my body. At this point, the connection has sort of snapped and my brain's concept of time is sort of floating about in limbo.

MEME: So there was a time in which I played around with the idea of aiming for a creative-type job--writer, specifically. This did not last long, for various reasons. But you have the drive and are working hard on your creative stuffs. It's not an easy thing and I find it admirable!
