My mother flipped on my laptop only to be greeted with a kernel panic, so my brother ran the Apple diagnostic and something was up with the GPU. I called the helpline only to find my helpline warranty (or WHATEVER THE HELL) had expired. To talk to someone, I would have to pay $50.00

Oh my goodness, Kate. You're always so helpful. Do you know everything? Is that a by-product of being a teacher?

Unfortunately, there's no Apple store near moi, only a certified place who can troubleshoot. But it does sound like the Apple Stores has their stuff together, and interacting with them in person would probably help.

Thankfully (hopefully?), I'm getting the issue taken care of. We went through five people until one woman tracked our customer history all the way to the first computer and realized they hadn't switched the warranty from our first defunct computer to the second replacement. I'm covered until December 23rd! They finally sent a box.

I guess the bad mood comes from spending so much money on a product that makes me tear my hair out. But I do feel better knowing that if I can find an Apple store, my experiences might turn out for the best. I just wish Apple would resolve their issues before launching new products or spending lots of money on supah-trendy ads.

Seriously. You are awesome. That is all.
