No; I get you. It's actually the tak I'm taking and have been intending to take with Bakura. At the beginning of the story he's every so often making half-hearted attempts to kill Yugi out of sheer reflex, but it's spur of the moment, why-the-fuck not things. It's more his actual speech patters that is going to be interesting. Because on the one hand I feel like he should be talking like a James Bond villain, on the other I feel like he should be swearing every second sentence. I'm sure I'll work out something, anyway. And as soon as I get back into this (I'm on Hiatus having been Eaten by Heroes.) I'm sure I'll have great fun writing the sneaky little bastard.
I think with Bakura it's about control. When he has control of a situation he's pretty cool, like a cat playing with a mouse. But when he looses control he kinda-sorta panics. It's really rather pathetic.
Bakura would make an awsome Bond vilain. I have images of him with Ryou's head on his lap, stroking that white hair and grinning maliciously at a chained up Yami no Yugi...

I think that's some really interesting insight. My Bakura tends to be influenced a lot by lediz's Bakura, but then in my AU, Evil!Bakura is gone for good and really only shows up as remnants of memory when Good!Bakura (I refuse for the most part to call him Ryou because the characters don't) gets pissed. Which is rare. So the issue hasn't come up for me.
Man, I can't wait to read this story! It sounds fascinating!
I understand the Ryou/Bakura thing. In short stories I sometimes try to refer to him as the Ring Spirit, but that is kind of long winded and I've sort of ended up flowing with the fandom tied. Having said that I definately understand why you refuse to do so. It is really confusing, after all...
I'm afraid you may have to wait a little while for the story. I don't think I'm even a tenth of the way in yet and I don't tend to like posting stories before they are at least half done. But yeah, when it is finished I look forward to your response... It's going to be interesting to see how it turns out.
I'm with you on the not posting too soon. I won't post until I'm completely done because I make too many changes in early chapters to accommodate plot points that I don't think of until later chapters. I could never post as I go. Well, the exception was the one I did for 30_kisses, because that was more 30 separate one-shots around one theme (the relationship between Jou and his sister) rather than one continuous story, so there was no need to re-edit early stuff.
