Of late I have been consumed with some intense comicmaking (by which I mean--pretty much any part of the day not having a meeting, or eating, or sleeping [minimal]) for a class where we are probably judged more on design skill than artistic merit, but I wanted to do it for fun and kicks anyway. I finally found a way to motivate myself to actually get up not too long after the alarm rings, by leaving little notes on the clock to tell myself what to do. This is because I tend to wake up in a disoriented fashion, assume that whatever it is, the dream was better, and go back to sleep. Last night's note, for example, read "Get up. Get coffee. So tonight's agenda ended up being art.
I quite like this little painting, though it looks awful minimized. Insufficient/inaccurate shading and slightly wonky feature placement is suspected. Still, 'm proud that it shaped up from starting as a brown blob, and with no direct reference to boot. Fun stuff!
