When Jade ran away, she did criminal acts for some time (No, she didn't kill anyone yet). But then something happened and she became a masked vigilante under the alias "Cheshire". Then in one of her patrols, Cheshire met the team (or Batman) and agreed to become a reserve member (or informant).
Meanwhile, Artemis wasn't able to get away with the life her father doomed her with. She became part of the League of Assassins and member of "The Light".
Then came the mission where team was sent to Rhelasia with Cheshire to investigate while Artemis was there to play assassin for Luthor. What will happen when these two sisters meet?
bonuses:
- Roy is part of the team. He didn't left and went with Robin, KF, and Kaldur to investigate Cadmus in "Independence".
- Roy/Cheshire and Spitfire

He considers consulting Ollie, before throwing that idea out the window.
He asks Dinah instead, and gets a lot better advice. And a background check on Jade.
“Everything seems to be in order,” Dinah finally said, looking up from her computer. “Nice, safe, normal girl. Eighteen years old, lives alone… seems good. But be careful,” she added. “You’re meeting her at the restaurant, right?”
“Yes Dinah,” Roy replied.
“Do you have your bow?” Dinah asked, crossing her arms.
“Yes Dinah.”
“Trick arrows?”
“Yes Dinah.”
“Mask?”
“Yes Dinah.”
“Cash?”
“Yes Dinah.”
“Cell phone?”
“Yes.”
“Subway ticket?”
“Yes.”
“Condoms?”
“Yes-Dinah!”

"Why Jade...why did you leave me alone with him?"

She threw her toothbrush into the bag, and hoisted it over her shoulder. Hesitating at the window, she leaned over and kissed her baby sister’s cheek.
“Be safe,” she whispered, before fading into the night, just like the Cheshire cat. “Goodbye Alice.”
Artemis turned over in her sleep, clutching her teddy bear tightly.

The hero thing began on accident. A scream in an alley, and Jade decided to play hero, rescuing the teenage girl from a mugger.
As she stood over the unconscious body of the crook, Jade was surprised at how good it felt. An idea nagged at the thirteen year old girl’s mind. She could be a hero, like Superman or Batman. She had the training, after all. She could help people.
And the fact that using her father’s training to help people instead of kill people would basically be a lovely ( ... )

“I don’t know!” Artemis squeaked, trying to fight back tears. “She wasn’t here this morning!”
“Why that little…” Sportsmaster growled. “Come here girl.”
Girl. That had been his name for Jade. She didn’t get up from her corner. She didn’t want to go near him.
“I said, come here,” he said, grabbing her hair and pulling her forward. Artemis cried out in pain, trying to get out of his grip on her ponytail. “Lesson one,” he said, pulling her up onto her toes by his grip on her hair. “Work through the pain.”
Artemis started sobbing. “Don’t cry!” her father said, dropping her onto the ground and kicking her in the stomach, causing her to curl into a ball. “Never,” he said, towering over her, “Ever show the pain.”
Artemis nodded, trying to stop the flow of tears. “Yes sir,” she whispered.
“Good girl,” he said, smiling in a way that put her on edge. “Now come on. Your training starts today.”

She’s just liked his arms and the cute way he sulked, for crying out loud!
But she wasn’t going to complain. High school was ending, and she needed something normal in her life, between her three jobs (waiting tables at two different restaurants and protecting the innocents people of Blüdhaven). Roy was perfect for her.
And, as it turned out after date number three, he was a damned good kisser.

“I want to meet her!” Ollie told Roy, far too cheerfully.
“Who?” Roy asked, feigning innocence.
“Your girlfriend of course!” Ollie said, throwing his arm around his adoptive son’s shoulder.
“You don’t get to meet her,” Roy told Ollie matter of factly.
“Why not?’
“You’ll scare her off.”
“Will not!” Ollie declared, indignant.
“Will too,” Roy retaliated.
“Will not!”
The argument continued for a week, both as Speedy and Green Arrow, and as Roy and Oliver.
But as it turned out, Ollie wanted to meet her so much that he was willing to throw a party as an excuse to get to meet her. Dinah told Roy that he had to bring Jade. She was tired of the arguing.
Jade thought the whole thing was hilarious, although privately she was worried about what she could wear to that kind of party.
Fortunately, it turned out that her friend Helena and she share the same size.

She didn’t let her anxiety show though. She’d been trained better than that. She adjusted the necklace (also borrowed from Helena) that she wore, and walked towards Roy, who stood at the top of the stairs, grinning at her.
“Hello lover,” she said, kissing his cheek.
“Hey Jade,” he said, wrapping his arms around her. “You look great!”
“Not bad yourself,” Jade replied with her best flirtatious grin. “You in that suit…” she ran a hand down his sleeve, feeling his impressive arm muscles under the cloth of the suit. “That’s something a girl could get used to ( ... )
