Speedy's Hat anonymous February 7 2012, 23:41:10 UTC
Seriously. What happened to Speedy's hat? He tossed it on the ground and stormed out, the Leaguers went off to fight Wotan. KF, Aqualad and Robin went to Cadmus.

Someone please tell me the story of what happened to Speedy's hat!

This could be a special mission for the team because the fate of the universe lies in Speedy's hat. XD Second!

Speedy's hat is having an adventure of his own. Secretly hiding in the souvenir room, kicking Robot Eye's ass, snarking against the Helmet of Fate, duking it out against Aretmis' arrow while trying the love of the Cheshire mask! XD

Wow... did I just wrote that? My brain's weird

Fffffff if the prompt wasn't enough, the 'vying for the love of Cheshire's mask' did it for me.

I can't write crack. Since I can't, someone else please write this. The world needs to know.

The Misadventures of Speedy Hat 1/? anonymous February 8 2012, 13:15:32 UTC
Warning: Pure crack
---
Once upon a time, he was made by the callous hands of a golden bearded human. He carefully stitched him together and gently attached a red feather on him.

He knew he was going to be special. He felt all the love and affection from the human's hands as he made him. He will not be an ordinary hat.

The next day, he was given to his master - a young red head with a very eager smile. He was proud and valiant. His head was warm and soft. He was a good human.

His master was named Speedy. And from his master name, he derived his own - Speedy Hat.

Fill: How Hats Become Real 1/5 anonymous February 8 2012, 15:07:02 UTC
I hope a second fill here is okay - I started writing this before I saw there was one already, and, um, I... had the desire to share this insanity, and I kinda suspect that it isn't what the OP was looking for at all, because there's not really any adventuring going on. But, uh, I offer it anyway ( ... )

To him, the hat was merely a part of his costume, a part of the disguise that allowed him to prowl Star City. To him, it was initially no more special than his boots, and far less special than his bow or his quiver. The hat was not a favoured toy, taken to bed and gifted with secrets, nor was it a well-cared for ornament, position upon a prominent shelf assured. It was merely always there, and, slowly, it became a constant. The first time a mission went terribly wrong, and he returned home with a broken arm, white-lipped and tight with pain, the hat had been knocked from his head by the same explosion that had sent him into an unyielding wall. Scooped from the ground by the frantic hands of Green Arrow, it returned home too, and when Speedy was next released back into the world, though the rest of his costume was new, the hat was the same ( ... )

A fight was had, an easy one, rushed through and completed before the hat was entirely aware, and the buzz of excitement from its Speedy never lessened. Never lessened until, with harsh abruptness, that excitement flooded into anger. Anger was all too familiar to the hat, a rush of emotion that was recently more frequent, and the raised voices were also no new thing. The place was, though, and the hat had an awareness of high roofs and glass before, quite suddenly, it found itself grasped in the hand of Speedy and... and thrown. Thrown away ( ... )

Re: Fill: How Hats Become Real 4/4 (oops) anonymous February 8 2012, 15:09:49 UTC
It was early morning when that quiet was disturbed by the sound of a door sighing open, a gentle hiss against the silent room. Footsteps followed, precise, careful, and the hat almost dared hope, dared wish, dared beg, simply dared - but the hands that grasped it were not Speedy's, though they were familiar. Nimble fingers traced along its soft fabric, and Green Arrow sighed. The exhale of breath was lost in the pressing quiet ( ... )

I loved the writing style. It read two parts like Bambi, and I adore the writing style in that book. It's also a very realistic view of what might happen to the hat. Green Arrow probably did come back for it sometime.

The 'Real' objects concept is gorgeous, and my favorite line is, "Objects are good at hearing what people do not say."

The two fills are very different, and difference is what we want from multiple fills. This is so unique. Thanks for sharing. Insane is clearly an awesome state of mind.

OP here, weeeooow 2 fills, this is an awesome day. Gosh this was sad, in a good way. But the end with Green Arrow going and picking up the hat, Speedy how could you abandon your hat like that? I hope you don't descend completely into madness, because this was awesome.
