Chapter 8 “Ryo-chan, Yama-chan, can the both of you help me with something?” Kota asked, while they were taking a break from the rehearsal.
“Sure!” the both of them replied in sync.
Immediately, Ryoko’s eyes flickered to Ryosuke’s and quickly darted away. Ryosuke set his lips into a grim line and looked away as well.
“What do you need help with, Kota-kun?” Ryoko asked politely which Kota smiled in reply.
“Well, since the other members need to rehearse their parts again, is it alright if the both of you could help us buy some drinks?” Kota requested and Ryoko gulped.
“The both of us?” Ryoko said with hint of unwillingness and Kota nodded.
“Usually, it’s Yuto-kun and I who will go out to buy the drinks. But this time round, the both of us need to rehearse our parts again. I’m really sorry to take away some of your break time,” Kota apologized and Ryoko immediately waved her hand.
“A-ah, it’s nothing,” Ryoko said and shifted her eyes slowly to Ryosuke, who was still looking away. I guess I can’t refuse the favour any other way.
“Erm, sure! We’ll help you then, Kota-kun!” Ryoko agreed and stood up.
Ryosuke was surprised to hear that and stared at her with wide eyes. Kota smiled and patted her shoulders before heading off to rehearse his part. Without looking at Ryosuke, Ryoko turned around on her heels.
“Let’s go. We need to get back before their rehearsal ends,” she said softly and walked towards the exit.
Hearing that, Ryosuke stood up immediately and followed after her.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Erm, Ryo-chan, don’t you think that you carrying too much?” Ryosuke asked with concern as he watched her struggled with the drinks in her arms.
Instead of replying, she shook her head and continued to walk quickly. Just a few more steps and I’ll be back at the stage with the other members. Things will be fine afterwards.
Ryosuke walked slowly behind her with his gaze fixed on her back view. Yamada Ryosuke, you’re so stupid. Why did you kiss him two nights ago? You’re seriously cra-
“Oh! Ryota, watch out!” Ryosuke shouted loudly but before Ryoko could react in time, she tripped over the wiring on the ground and fell forward.
Luckily, Yuuri was nearby at that time and immediately dashed forward to help.
“That was close!” Yuuri heaved a sigh of relief after he managed to prevent Ryoko from face-palming against the ground.
Ryoko closed her eyes, expecting her face to hit against the hard ground but instead, she felt something warm and softer than the ground. As she opened her eyes, she was astonished to see herself lying against Yuuri with the drinks scattered around them.
“Chinen-kun! Are you alright? I’m so sorry!” she apologized and quickly tried to get up.
However, she didn’t notice that there was another can drink beside them and placed her palm against it. Using her full strength to get up, the can glided against the ground and caused her to slip again. Thankfully, she held her other palm against the ground earlier and prevented her from falling against Yuuri.
In that awkward position, she recalled the scene that happened two nights ago with Ryosuke. Her heart started to pound wildly and blood rushed to her cheeks within second. Feeling the heat on her cheeks, she quickly got up and ran away, bumping into the other members on the way. When they stopped her to ask what had happened, she shook her head profusely and dashed away quickly.
Ryosuke watched the whole scene silently. He lowered his head and clutched onto the can drinks tightly. Yuuri, who was startled by Ryoko’s sudden reaction, quickly stood up and shifted his gaze to Ryosuke.
“Yama-chan, are you okay?” Yuuri asked with concern.
Instead of replying, Ryosuke remained in silence. The other members felt weird when they saw Ryoko running away from them and decided to approach the two.
“Chii, what happened? Why was Ryo-chan running away so hurriedly?” Kei asked, raising his eyebrows.
Yuuri let out a sigh before averting his attention to the others. He proceeded to tell them the whole incident. Despite that, the other members still felt that something was wrong.
“It’s impossible for Ryo-chan to run away like this after that happened. Well, at least the both of you didn’t kiss,” Hikaru joked at the last sentence which caused Ryosuke to cringe.
Yuuri spotted it and patted Ryosuke’s shoulder lightly.
“Yama-chan, are you really okay? Is something bothering you?” Yuuri asked again and the other members looked at him with concern.
Ryosuke clutched the can drinks even tighter and looked up at the other members with a solemn expression.
“I…have something to tell all of you…,” he said quietly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“WHAT?!” Yuto exclaimed loudly, as he jumped up from his seat and Keito had to tug on his shirt repeatedly to get him to sit down. Ryosuke nodded his head slowly with guilt, avoiding all eye-contacts.
“Yama-chan, do you know that Ryo-chan is a guy?” Ryutaro said in bewilderment and stared at him in disbelief.
Once again, Ryosuke nodded his head. Daiki, who sat beside him, patted his shoulder lightly as if to comfort him.
“What’s done can’t be undone. Why don’t you try and apologize to Ryo-chan later, after the both of you return back into the hotel room?” Daiki suggested which gained approval from other members except Yuuri.
“No, that doesn’t work at all.”
Everyone, including Ryosuke, turned to look at the source of the voice. It was Yuuri.
“Why, Chii?” Daiki asked with a slight frown.
“Ryo-chan doesn’t look like the type who will hold a grudge against someone that easily,” Kota stated and the other members nodded in agreement.
To their surprise, Yuuri shook his head. He looked at each of the members slowly and seriously. With a grim expression, he told them the reason. His words left the members astounded and speechless.
“Ryo-chan isn’t a guy. He is a girl. Ryo-chan is a girl.”
