A Grand Day for Journalism

 Yesterday, we were treated to the Media's wall-to-wall coverage of Weiner's (covered) weiner. This was a direct result of the Good Congressmen 'fessing up about his twittered (covered) weiner shot sprung on assorted females in the Twitterverse. Needless to say the ground was fertile for weiner jokes.

Honestly, I've come to expect this. Historically speaking, this is the way the press has been in this country for a long time. The legacy of Pulitzer and Hearst is more the reality of journalism than the ideals that are so often espoused and equally often sold for a buck.

I'm not full-on cynical though. I know there are some fine women and men working in the press corps who daily do their very best to tell us Fact and Truth. I just wish there was a more effective way to reward them and foster more like them.
