No problem. While I am one of the glazed eye people and no almost nothing about the form, I find life to be immensely improved with poetry. People are often quite surprised at some of the things on my book shelf.

...besides, if I'm going to have bragging rights of TWO published authors I can claim as friends, I should at least have read the published works ;-)

and wow... better proofing or more coffee before I post. Perhaps some of both.

Mainly because when I mention poetry to people, I see their eyes glaze over then roll back into their heads.

Yep, that inevitable moment when you meet people who "love reading" unless it's poetry.

Congrats Mark, this is really cool!

Thank you!

My Dad doesn't want a copy of the book. He doesn't like poetry at all. Loves me, though. And I am good with that.

The least he could do is buy it and put it on a shelf.

my fam is weird about my poetry too, they aren't flattered by being muses, just afraid of being exposed....

Ah, why try to make him feel guilty about it. The important thing to remember is that he loves me. When I do write about him, he's oblivious. Which makes it easier for me, in some regards.

The politics of writing about family would make for an interesting book. One I am sure I shall not write.

I love your ginormous pic of the cover. So many people put up pictures/graphics that are miniscule and it is maddening.

I am proud of you, Mark.
