1. I am weak. - I’ve spent a lifetime running from problems, challenges and situations. It became a lifestyle. It left me hollow and with a path of hurt people in my wake. No more. Actually, not for some time but for certain no more. Sometimes doing the Right Thing hurts like hell, but it has to be done.

I think you are misinterpreting yourself. You've been through recent events that might have defeated a lesser person. Strength comes in many forms. Don't assume a different form equates with absence.

2. I like to write but I always hold back. The fear of failure and/or looking like a fool looms large in my thinking here. So, I work only ‘so hard’ and no more. I don’t send out my work much anymore because I dislike the rejections more than I like the acceptances. This is part of the reason I’ve decided to make this year my year of writing dangerously. Trying new things and welcoming failure as just another instructor pointing the way to success. (just wish I had decided to do this years ago in many areas of my life...)I just ( ... )

The "weak" is of character. Things in my past.

I have a daughter, Pete. She's 20 years old and until quite recently I wasn't a part of her life. A huge part of the "blame/reason" whatever, is my fault. Because I was weak. Which is also why I said 'but no more' because those things, the accident I think is what you are referring to, helped to open my eyes.

Part of this exercise or meme is to put some of what makes me tick down on 'paper' for my daughter. :-)

But thanks, Pete. I so appreciate your comments. You've no idea.

A few comments:

30% of your answers mentioned food. THAT is freaking honest. I was too chicken to mention chicken. Or anything about food. I know you were trying to be lighthearted. But it made me think about my own answers.

At some point you need to stop calling yourself weak.

Some of these things I already knew because of your writing. Now I know more. Keep writing.

I need to remember my weakness so I don't backslide into it again. :-)

And food...we all like to eat, and I like junk food....what can I say?

The series is already written. It's all over but the posting...

"I need to remember my weakness so I don't backslide into it again."

There, I can give you an amen. It's only a choice as long as we keep making the right ones. Stop, even once for some people and it has already become a habit.

#9 is one of those hard lessons that I wish people would learn. I just don't have enough resources to waste to bother hating. I guess I hate some behaviors but a behavior isn't a person. Much like that weakness thing, it's a choice.
I like choices and I choose bacon!

Yes! Despise the behavior, but not the person....

And bacon is a great choice!
