As most of you may or may not know, a devastating bushfire has swept through Victoria, Australia - which is where I live. It has left a trail of heartbreak and death in its wake. Australia needs all the help we can get during such a difficult time.

Thank you! <3 The weather has cooled down a little so hopefully that will help contain the fires.

This seems really small compared to the death toll, but my friend's two rabbits died from the heatwave. It wasn't until she told me that I realised this may be a lot bigger than the coverage here makes it sound (which is abysmally bad). So hard to believe I was just in Victoria last year... so much will change.

*hugs* Keep that doggy, and yourself, safe.

Yeah, so much has died, it's crazy! There were possums coming down from trees and literally dying within seconds from the heat. Whole towns have just been completely wiped off the map. Shocking. X__X
I've been looking to see how much has been covered internationally - and when I rang home in KL, nobody even knew there was a fire! No wonder I was wondering why my dad wasn't panicking and demanding to know if we were safe, ha ha. Lousy media coverage indeed!

Re: your dad-- LOL! I've been bringing it up in conversation with anyone who'll listen, and pretty much everyone didn't know about it (they did, however, know the Aussie stimulus has been passed. wtf?). The media's pathetic!

I figure bushfires are pretty common in Australia, but not to this extent, right? I think reporters around here just think it's another ol' bushfire, nothing to see here...

I know, it's devastating. So many heartbreaking stories! I've heard survivor stories about how a guy put his three kids in the car to escape, turned for a sec to get something from the house, and when he turned around the car was on fire. So many other horror stories, it's just ugh, unspeakable.

Thank you so much for your kind thoughts! <3

you'll be in my prayers, yin. ♥ I have another friend who lives out there, he's really scared as well. ):

I live in California, fire capital of the world, so I know how scary it can be.

Best of luck, I really hope the fires end soon. ♥
