[Come one come all, girls and boys! The Dressing Room is almost completely dark, but there's one hall that isn't quite so- you can still see enough to spot the decorations after all! Jack-o-lanterns line this walk way, and all of the apartments here are ready to greet any costumed children who pass by!
And look at these set ups! There's one with a

You really thought you could ever get rid of me~? Not only a hypocrite, but a fool, too... Tch.]
H-hello? Is anyone there?
[Have a desperate-sounding Brooklime clutching his ring, jumping when he sees the ghoul move and completely ignoring the candy! Shapeshifting into his worst fear might be a bad idea...]
Reply
That's nothing to do with you- why did you pretend to be my ring spirit? Who are you?
[Added as something of an afterthought,]...don't call me that.
Reply
[Might not seem to be a ring spirit, but he certainly acts like it doesn't he?]
Reply
That doesn't change anything. What happened to the spirit of the Millennium Ring doesn't matter anymore. It's gone- permanently.
[And the more he tells himself that, the more likely it is to be true.
The telekinesis, not exactly voluntary at the best of times, is no longer causing things to levitate. A few Halloween props are rattling violently.]

"Yes, but you seem to be strangely insistent on the 'hows and whys' of that..." [He hisses as he says this, and while he moves to apparently pace around Brooklime, the mist appears around him again- and a white jackal, floating almost ghost-like, continues the 'walk' around at a slightly higher than eye-level height.] "And I warn you 'landlord', I'm no fool... The items might have been destroyed and put to rest as they should in my world, but if that ring is around your neck my 'counterpart' would certainly not have left willingly... So..."
[Allow him to give a frightening grin to you, Brooklime... Before it curls into a threatening growl.] "How do you kill something that's already dead?"
Reply
Well, that and 'Why are you a ring spirit, my roommate and a jackal?', but evidently this- person- won't be forthcoming with an answer. Fortunately, everything stops shaking. Which, if anything, makes Brooklime feel more vulnerable.
Coldly,] You'll find that when your life is in danger, a number of options that you would never usually have considered become available to you. The 'hows and whys' stop mattering very quickly.
[And, with a little more desperation,] How can the items have been destroyed, if you're still alive?
Reply
Even though it's his voice. He mists back from the teen, grin still in place.] "Has it not occurred to you that I might not be alive..? The afterlife is hardly a place you would know about... What's to stop me, or the former 'king' from coming back, hnhnhnhnhn..?"
[Though at this point, he still assumes you're on the 'Pharaoh's side so... This should be interesting... But the grin falls, and he returns to the point.] "I don't care how much you thought it mattered- worlds are different yes, but I don't see how you could possibly destroy what that item contained without outward 'prodding'..." [He growls lowly, and continues.] "So answer me... What prodding did you take..?" [Please don't tell him the 'King' got stupid in this world...]

If the Pharaoh's gone in your world, then so much the better. In mine, he's very much alive.
But you can't come back. There's no way- it's not possible. Not after what w- what I did. [Did you notice that slight stress on the singular, Canis? Because Brooklime's really hoping that you didn't... Also, he doesn't sound very convinced by what he's saying.]
What makes you think that I couldn't have gotten rid of you myself? The Ring's power is as much mine as it was the spirit's. It chose me.
Reply
Oh no...] "You actually did it," [he hisses. Taking human form again he backs up against the door, expression far more easily seen.] "You fool... You actually DID... I don't know whether to be utterly disgusted or amazed with you...! The fact that you could kill 'me'... Or the fact that you even did so...!" [And if it's only his spirit, with the darkness remaining...
His eyes narrow. Time for information.] "Why do you feel the world is better off without the spirit of the Millennium Puzzle..?"
Reply
After all, he's overpowered this person once before...]
The spirit of the Millennium Puzzle is after much the same things as you were - only he's using my friends to get to them. He's using Yugi.
It took me a while to realise that- did I not, in your world?
[Brooklime is beginning to wonder if it's best not to ask about what happened to the Ryou Bakura of Canis' world.]
Reply
Just... Lovely.] "Tch. I suppose this was 'Malik Ishtar's doing," [he mutters, cursing to the side.] "Tch! Couldn't have used his head and thought that maybe there was a little more to the story? Idiot..!"
[He reels on the one before him.] "What did he tell you," [he growls, hair standing on end.] "The pharaoh might be a fool and a hypocrite, but he certainly wasn't the 'darkness' to fear in the items, particularly not if you're still alive now... So what did he tell you?"
Reply
He told me the truth! I don't know what happened in your world, but in mine, the Pharaoh's collecting Millennium Items, and we intend to stop him.
You could never have changed that. I destroyed you as soon as Marik told me it was possible.
['Destroyed' is a nicer word than 'killed', and far more accurate, all things considered.]
Reply
[You just pissed off a nigh immortal spirit. Also a bad move.
And as the mists 'flame' along with him, that's a little more visibly revealed.] "And what do you think he's collecting them for? The destruction of the world? Power? The pharaoh knows just as much as you do in your time... Those items are the keys to his memory..! And while they are indeed the keys to darkness," [he snarls, stepping forward in the blaze,] "It is not his darkness to control... Darkness belongs to no one 'landlord', not you, not the 'Pharaoh', and not even me... It's its own power and it's been playing with our worlds for millions of years... Your pharaoh," [he spits,] "Isn't meant to BECOME darkness, if that's what you think he's doing... He's meant to destroy it! And you probably just made that completely impossible for him!"
[Throwing his hands above his head the mists retract, and Canis snarls before crossing his arms from where he now faces the door, back to Brooklime.] "Just what do you and your 'friend' plan on doing with those items ( ... )
Reply
You'll excuse me if I don't believe a word you say, given your last act was to leave me to bleed to death.
[With utter conviction,] Marik's going to defeat the Pharaoh, and I'm helping him. When we do, we can put the Items to rest.
Reply
"Rest." [Hold on now...] "Rest, who told you to put them to rest, that wasn't his doing... All he wants is to kill the one he thinks got his father, which, by the way, was his doing," [he adds with an almost passing tone, as though this was a perfectly ordinary occurrence.] "But rest..." [He shakes his head, moving closer to Brooklime with crossed arms and not a trace of anger in his words.] "I wouldn't have told anyone of that particular desire, not in the state I was in the ring..."
[His nose twitches. And with a tilted head, he wonders if what he's thinking is on the right track...] "You... Who in this 'building' have you met up to this point..."
Reply
Quit making excuses, I don't care, I just want you to be dead!
[And, a little more quietly,] Marik's not lying- he can't be- there's no way-
[That last part catches him off guard.]
Th- that's nothing to do with you.
