I finally had inspiration.

---gaaaaah!!!

[A particular store is exploding with glass crashing.

For this place is utterly evil. Utterly. It has to be. Why else would a bowl of oranges be on top of a shelf of those smelly bottles?! It had to know he would try climbing along the front to get to them! Maybe it even pushed over the shelf. No way he messed that up!

But whatever ( Read more... )

[[I play this 15-year-old Isis as canon at one game, buuut I found an adorable one elsewhere that requires an AU. So, until I get her full app ready - in this Isis's world, the events 3,000 years ago didn't happen (or at least didn't create Tombkeepers), and things have yet to go super-sour at her (still very restrictive) home. Though she gets weird visions from time to time.]]

....

[She...thought she was in the airport...but...]

MALIK!!

[Egyptian girl running towards you with a rolling suitcase, now. She's also in modern, if conservative clothing.]

Malik, is that you? Stop that this instant!

=O There are "ooo, fun au" comments but namely "an Isis!" bloodoncespilt August 3 2011, 21:38:52 UTC
[Alright, who's screaming? Even better, screaming at him given the running-up she's doing.]

I'm NOT Malik!

[Geez, vaguely familiar lady! How many of you are going to do that? It's even kind of different this time! Does he have to mind wipe the whole lot of you and erase that name manually?

Oh, also the tossing of a bottle that barely survived the fall in her direction. That's happening, too. Poor bottle.]

What's it your business what I do?

:D She's so much fun to play at this age... unseenvisions August 3 2011, 22:25:09 UTC
[[Game she's being prepped for is sophiaacademy, if you wanted to take a look. <3]]

Ah...

[You're not, are you? You look so much like him - but why would he be here...

She ducks out of the bottle's way just in time, disturbed but mostly upset. If you're not Malik, then -]

You're making a mess of someone's store! Where is your mother or father?! You need to apologize to the owner and behave!

[Where are they? Why are they just letting this child-who-looks-so-much-like-her-brother run amok...]

Ooooh, I know what I'm checking out later tonight! bloodoncespilt August 3 2011, 23:48:01 UTC
Like I care?

[This would be near boring if she wasn't reacting all amusingly harsh. But even that doesn't stop the scoffing.]

What are you, new? There's no parents here!

[And his would have questionable reactions to this, or rather Sayyid would find a scapegoat to take the fall.

But it's to stall any potential trouble, not put words in her mouth, that he's going for the Rod poking out from under one shelf.]

Your parents - aren't here? Are you traveling alone....?

[A child of this age! They should be ashamed - no wonder he's unruly -

She looks around for a moment, unsure what's going on. This is the shopping district of an airport - right? That's certainly where she'd been...

So she'll miss you picking up that Rod in a moment of confusion.]

[--you know, maybe that new comment wasn't just an insult.]

It looks like you were too... Where'd you come from?

[And he's creeping up on distracted lady to try and check for himself.

If the "SMELL OF FLOWERS GALORE" doesn't give him away.]

Ah, Egypt....I'm...

[She looks down at the scent, though from the look on her face she may well remain an easy target. Right! She can worry about getting - lost - later. This boy needs to own up to what he's done!]

What are you doing?

Eh?

[She doesn't look like she's from his neck of the tombs, but then neither did the REAL Marlick he saw, with his fancy future wear. Hey, maybe she's another relative brat!

Either way, he's giving a frown at the getting 'caught'. Not that it stops him.]

Doing this the fast way.

[And he'll be trying to tap the wing of that Rod to her arm, make for a wave into her head, not knocking her mind out at all but certainly, taking a peek.]

What---

[And you've got her. She sways a little at the motion, eyes blanking a bit during your scan.

There's nothing at all about tombkeepers proper in her mind, but there's a tiny Malik and a father who may look uncannily familiar to you. The kids don't go out too often, because Father is a bit of a radical element politically - he campaigns constantly for Egyptian artifacts and particularly mummies to be returned not just to Egypt, but to the tombs whence they were dug up.

There's a lot of hero-worship of the ancient times going on in that house, in short. To the point that the kids can't go out because they might encounter Undue Corrupting Influence.

You may appreciate, Alarm, that Isis has discovered (via a vision - what's up with that?) that little Malik has managed to sneak out a few times anyway.]

Well that's a political agenda I haven't heard yet. xD bloodoncespilt August 4 2011, 16:11:42 UTC
[Heh heh, piece of cake.

But not as much as keeping focus through the shockers of what her family's like and is that man actually- WAITWAIT Look at that world they've got outside that is much more important!! Except they don't go look at it much. So what, their family is always obsessed with dead stuff? Bo~ring! People are only fun before dying. These kids need to get out from under the loudmouth's thumb more.

But hrm, he's got enough to back off again, spinning the Rod while he immediately pokes another way. (Do hope you don't fall on the glass.)]

So what, your dad's an uptight loudmouthed control freak, too?

[No, that isn't just an insult.]

[She stumbles back in surprise, catching herself before she does indeed get hurt. What just happened...? It almost felt like -]

M-my father? He's a man of particular convictions -

Malik, what did you do?

[Sorry, she knows you're not Malik. But while she's making sense of this she'll go with the name attached to the face in her mind.

And you're carrying something odd, too. Something that looks old. She gets a chill.]

[Huh, he can't decide if her spazzing under control is amusing or irksome.

But the name helps tip the scales. No understanding here.]

I am not Malik!

[Forget balance, my lady, for this little guy is looking to trip you down to his level.]

Do I look like your boring brother? [No, he knows the literal, shush.] I can do much more than that one.

--yes, you make a bigger mess. Whatever you've been allowed to do at your home, we're in public! You can't behave like this!

Where did you get this, too...Give it to me and go apologize.

[Reaching for the Rod.]

[Sayyid's lips quirk like that was a compliment. Not to mention a joke.]

Ha, you are new if you think that matters.

[Not that he would care much more for personal property in his own world, given he's got a handy trick to make people back off.

A trick the missy is reaching for. Not the best course, given he's slipping back and making to prove that a bad idea, unsheathing the dagger and pointing it between her eyes.]

How about you start apologizing instead?

[And - knife in her face. She freezes, frightened both that it's happening and that it's a child who looks like Malik, but she takes a deep breath and looks him straight in the eyes. Who...he's just a child. Who's let a child carry a dagger, who's let a child believe this is all right?]

Drop it. Please. You're upset now, but hurting me won't make anything better. Whatever's the matter - I'll get you help.

Now. Put the knife away.

[But why isn't anyone coming? Where are the adults?]

Upset? Who said anything about that?

[No no, if anything he's rather curious. For one thing he's never had the chance to use this one someone outside his people, and father would skewer him if he did anything too permanent to anyone (their numbers were few enough right now). To have such a chance to try new things...

Except she is partly his people too. Except this one's not part of the Grand Design he is. Curious mix. And he won't get the chance to explore more, if he sees to the first idea first.

Priorities, priorities. So instead he suddenly presses forward, trying to just nick enough to make a point (ha).]

Get this through your head now, kin. Unbound or not, you don't tell me what to do. If I let you live it's just because you're a change from most of the dead-heads here.
