Malik had decided that Japan, in the spring, was quite a lot more tolerable than Egypt. He'd taken to rising early in the day and going for long, winding walks that took him everywhere from downtown to the suburbs. There were some buildings he recognized, some he shied away from, some he didn't know... the differences were calming. It was strange; he'd always been a solitary person and he found he'd become even more of one after he and Sadirah broke up.

... Still on his mind. Hah, funny. But still, he would not let that distract him from the matter at hand. Isis had something important to tell him, something that was obviously causing her some worry. She had been... a bit off lately, hadn't she? Well, no matter. Hopefully this would make things better.

He knew her room and stopped outside of it, rapping gently on the door.

"Come in, Malik," Isis called, knowing it was her brother on the other side of the door. Once he'd stepped into the room, she smiled and said, "There's orange juice, for you..." And it even had icecubes in it. Because that had always been the way he liked it, unless he'd changed and she was too preoccupied to notice.

"Did you have a good time out today?"

Perhaps she was stalling by making small talk, but Isis really did hope that he'd been finding some enjoyment in Domino...

"Thank you." He murmured softly, taking the glass but not drinking from it just yet. He examined his sister carefully, his head cocked a little bit. Details, what details were different... he hadn't paid enough attention recently; he couldn't tell.

"It was fine." His reply was equally soft, not really committing to anything. Today hadn't been special compared to yesterday or the day before -- but he had been enjoying himself well enough here, and expressed that, "I like this city."

But Malik did not particularly want to get away from the matter at hand. "You implied there was something wrong?" He queried, sounding concerned.

"Well, not... wrong," Isis hedged, fingers playing idly with the handle of her teacup. "It's more of something... well, that might come as a shock to you..."
