What generic term do YOU use to refer to those lovable, carbonated drinks we so love to drink?

In the US, it seems, the popular terms are Soda, Coke or Pop, and the choice is extremely regional. Different areas have different terms, but in some places you can find specific counties with local terms used:

There's a bright yellow stain, right in the middle of Idaho, where people say "Soda" with absolutely no regard to all those Data Vacuum Fields and avid Poppers and another blazing spot in Kansas. And why is there no consideration for the Missouri-Illinois border on behalf of all them Soda drinkers and what, in the name of all that is good, do all these Other Drinks Drinkers drink in the prairies of North Carolina?

Seriously, all this wild procrastination in shared internet space has got to stop. Lives, Ygg, are at stake. Entire academic degrees. The children, think of the children!

Me, I like the little finger of Bright Green Other that Minnesota extends into Canada. Also, the intense soft-drink segregration policy in Alaska.
And anyway, this isn't procrastination. This was part of legitimate research for a story I'm writing.
