Happy New Year, You Crazy Animals, You!

Hey, friends. So, how does it feel? Here we are in a new year, in a NEW DECADE. In a new frame of mind, perhaps? I spent the last couple of weeks in a different province, I got spoiled rotten, drank too much, slept too much, and now here I am; in the future.

So let's start wrapping things up, yes? Since, I've got some large projects starting up, I'm sewing up the seams of a huge load of old ones. Let's say; watch this space for NUDES news.

I was involved in an online-art-exchange-secret-satan-thing over last month. Now that I know the recipient of my drawing has received it, nenimo asked for Japanese demons and samurai which were fun to draw, I can share it with you here:

Yes, that's markers. Markers are fun.

I'm still waiting to see what I'm getting from my secret satan, but I'm excited none-the-less!!!

Somewhere in my Christmas card mailings I drew this saucy Lere, as requested by the lovely bsabo, "Can I get Lere mooning the reader of the card, yet wearing a stylish sweater?" This was my favorite of the random card doodles I did for people. I enjoyed the request as much as I enjoyed drawing it, let me tell you. Blush blush blush.

Anyway, in addition to being spoiled rotten by the universe over the last month, I also received some FANARTTTTTT from some drop dead gorgeous folks. Here's a comic about how this makes me feel:

The first is THIS SMEXY FRICKEN WOW WHAT YES Lere by kylavanderklugt. She is so ridiculously talented. I spasm-ed wildly when I received this in the mail:

This INCREDIBLY CLASSY Finnegan Stappe by the masterfully adorable shuraiya. Again, I blushed hard:

So, yes. Thank you, ladies. That really made my Christmas season!!!!

Now that we're starting the first work week of the New Year I ought to get some work done, huh? Well, let's go! I've got the tools, I've got the ambition, I've got the work ethic; 2010 is for getting quality shit done! More art, comics, and things on the way! I really want to find a way to get my work OUT THERE this year. I'm going to work hard to find a way to do this (beyond the self-publishing stuff that I already do). The quality is going up. It has to. It has to.

If there's one thing that I can say about 2009, it's that I spent it crawling through the mud, uphill, while it thundered and rained all around me. I don't get the easy route, I'm holding out for a little luck yet, but I think hard work will eventually pay off and burn away the disappointments and frustration. In any case, I'm not alone. I'm lucky enough to have someone to share this adventure with. That makes everything seem like a passing hurdle; I'm running for the prize. LET'S GO!

Hope you're off to a good start, too! See you soon!
