It's only the fourth day of 2015, but J and I have already been busy. We've been cooking and feasting, sledding on the last of the powder in Saint-Cergue, vegging out on old movies (well mostly me), fighting and sulking (me), having angry make-up sex, drinking whiskey into the wee hours of the morning (J), fighting more, and then coming right back

It's written coherently. I didn't know that much about your and J's initial relationship. I'm sorry if things aren't good, I hope you figure it all out together and come to a good decision for your family (which does not always mean staying together - I'm a firm believer in kids seeing happiness over upset parents!).

I'm sorry things are difficult. But I think it's a good sign that you spend a lot of time thinking and talking about all this! Whatever, whenever you decide (if you do), it won't be a spur of the moment thing, and that's good. And I agree, separated happy parents are to be preferred over parents who are unhappy but stay together just for the sake of the children. That said, I do hope you can make things work in the long run. If not, well, then that'll just be it.
