Death and Bliss anonymous January 1 2010, 15:25:25 UTC
I may not know *why* it is so, but I've found it to be true that death makes my bliss quite clear. When I heard in October that my Arcadia would die, I knew, I just knew how my new year would resolve. So I'm following my bliss. I quit my job, and I've moved out to the middle of nowhere, to that place where I thought I could never go back (and I thank the Goddess that I was wrong!)

So the old year has passed into that annual grave, a year spent writing a book to prepare my return; a seven-year absence seems to require such a Rite of Passage, such a love letter. Atalanta now waits for her revisions, but in the meantime I will write Persephone as she writes me. The dogs will be fed, for Arcadia loves her hounds -- a 150-headed Cerberus, perhaps. The people will come for one more year, to partake in our ritual conspiracies. And then, with the passing of 2010's fall, we will bow to the unknown.

There's a time to place the log of one's life on the fire, and this is one of those times.
