A few months later, Daiki continued to work like he always do, but a certain person noticed the change in his figure. He noticed that he was skinner and his skin was paler than before.
“Daiki-kun, are you alright?” Yuto Nakajima, an author who Daiki works as an editor asked him.
“Eh?” Daiki tilted his head signaling the younger boy that he didn’t understand what he just asked.
“Y-you’re pale…” Yuto said with a worried expression.
“Ah! I’m fine don’t worry I’m like this sometimes, it’s just a lack of sleep don’t worry Nakajima-kun”
“Are you sure? Don’t overwork yourself please…” He said then he returned on typing his book.
“Okay~” Daiki said playfully and Yuto gave him a nice and sweet smile.
Daiki was working as the famous writer Nakajima Yuto’s editor for seven months now. They are now working for the third series of Yuto’s mystery book. In the morning he studies literature together with Kei, Yuya, Hikaru and Keito. And when afternoon he edits Yuto’s works. He was working really hard to forget what he was feeling just for a little bit. He wanted to forget it everything he felt because if he won’t he will be lost again like what had happened to him when his family died in that accident. He wouldn’t want those persons around him to worry, not for him. I’m not worth as a person to be worried at those was the words Hikaru hated the most. He hated it when Daiki said those kinds of words.
“Dai-chan…let me remind you, we are your friends and it’s only natural for us to worry about you…” Hikaru said with his hands on Daiki’s shoulder.
“But I’m just fine, don’t worry about me” Daiki flashed his cheerful smile.
“Liar…” Yuya mumbled. “You almost fell off the stairs earlier!”
“I-I just tripped…” Daiki defended himself.
“Mou Dai-chan..you’re pale please tell us what’s wrong” Kei pleaded, he was really worried about his friend.
“I-I uh….” Daiki was thinking what he will say as an excuse. “I just didn’t get enough sleep last night that’s all believe me!” He yet said another lie. He wasn’t lacking of sleep, he rather felt sick that day.
“Is that really it?” Yuya snapped at his stubborn bestfriend “You’re really not sick right?” Yuya stood from his seat and reached for Daiki’s forehead but Daiki evaded his touch. “Dai-chan?”
“Ah gomen my phone is ringing” Daiki stood up from his seat and answered the phone call. He really was thankful to the person who called him. Because if he didn’t Daiki didn’t know what will happen to him if Yuya touches him again. “Hai? Nakajima-kun?”
“What’s wrong with him…” Yuya said while watching his now distant friend.
‘Yu-chan..” Kei grabbed his boyfriend’s hand and gave it a light squeeze “He’s just busy.”
“I hope that’s just it” Yuya said.
“Don’t worry about him…” Kei comforted Yuya.
“Yeah, he will be back to normal in no time” Keito reassured his friends.
“EH?!!!” Daiki yelled and that made his friends turn to him. “Ah gomen” he apologized to his friends for yelling suddenly. “A-ano Nakajima-kun? Are you serious?”
[“Yes I am” Yuto said on the other line]
“W-where are you now?” Daiki asked in panic.
“What’s with him?” Yuya asked the three person who is together with him at the café table.
“I dunno~” Hikaru shooked his head then sip on his cold coffee.
[I’m already here at you’re school…” Yuto said]
“Eh? Where?” Daiki asked then looked around him.
[“You’re wearing a red checkered polo right?” Yuto teased Daiki]
“How’d you know?” Daiki asked while going back to his seat.
“Who’s that?” Hikaru asked curiously
“My boss” Daiki answered. “Mou~ Nakajima-kun stop laughing and tell me where are you…” Daiki frowned.
[“Okay okay don’t be mad, look in front of you…”]
“Eh?” Daiki lifted his head and did as what Yuto told him. “AH!” He stood up immediately and that made the table tumble.
“What now?!” Yuya shrieked at his small bestfriend who suddenly stood up.
“Yu-chan!” Kei hurriedly wiped the spilled coffee on Yuya’s pants.
“Hika, Daijoubu?” Keito asked his funny fanged boyfriend who is also wet from the the spilled coffee
“Dai-chan don’t stand like that!” Hikaru complained.
“Ah gomen gomen…” Daiki saved their books from being soaked. Yuto approached the table where Daiki and his friend was.
“I-I’m sorry..” Yuto helped the four in cleaning up the mess Daiki made.
Few moments later….
“So who is this guy?” Hikaru asked with brows arched.
“Uh, He-“Daiki didn’t finish what he was about to say.
“Nakajima Yuto desu.” Yuto bowed as a sign of respect.
“Na-Nakajima Yuto?!” Kei was very surprised and at the same time excited.
“Who?” Yuya asked but was ignored.
“You-You’re the writer of “The Missing Piece” right?” Hikaru asked with the same excitement as Kei.
“Yes, I’m the author of that book” Yuto smiled at the two fans of him.
“What’s with that, forgetting about us?” Keito complained as he and Yuya glare at Yuto who is now having a mushy conversation with their boyfriends.
“Ano, excuse me?” Yuya interrupted the conversation. “If you will just mind our presence here?”
“Ah, Yu-chan, gomen…” Kei scratched his head “We were just excited…” He said and Hikaru nodded in agreement.
“Ah minna, gomen, he’s my boss…I’m currently editing his book…” Daiki said in a low voice.
“Uhm, Daiki-kun, will you mind introducing them to me?” Yuto demanded
“Ah! This is Kei” He pointed at Kei.
“Doumo” Kei bowed his head
“This is Hikaru” He pointed at Hikaru
“Can I get your signature later?” Hikaru asked the tall young man in front of him but earned a glare from Keito.
“Sure” Yuto smiled
“This is Keito, Hikaru’s boyfriend” He now pointed at Keito.
“Yo” Keito bowed
“And this is Yuya…” Daiki now pointed at Yuya. Yuto noticed the change on Daiki’s expression.
“Ah, so you’re Yuya-kun, I heared a lot of you from Dai-chan” Yuto pulled Daiki closer to him with his hands on Daiki’s waist.
“Nakajima-kun!” Daiki was surprised at the latter’s action.
“Ah is that so?” Yuya answered Yuto coldly.
“Yes…” Yuto grinned and Yuya felt so irritated with this new guy in front of him he didn't know why but Yuto did irritated him. "I'm here to pick Daiki-kun so if you don't mind can we take our leave now?"
"Ahh~ wait before you leave can you sign this?" Hikaru showed the second series of Yuto's book.
"Sure" Yuto took the book and signed it.
"Ah thank you~" Hikaru was so happy with that sign but he became silent when he noticed that Keito glared at him.
"So, Daiki-kun let's go?" Yuto invited the older.
"Ah yes.." Daiki took his bag "So guys I'll be going now bye~" Daiki followed Yuto.
"What's with that guy he's so full of himself." Yuya whispered to himself.
"I feel the same" Keito said as they both watch Daiki and Yuto walking away from them.
