Under That Cherry Blossom Tree Part II [I will make you mine whatever it takes]
“Kota, why didn’t you believe in me? Why didn’t you trust me?I was looking at the blue sky. The sky is so pretty… I mumbled to myself without realizing that tears are already rolling down from my eyes. Kota… Again I uttered his name, the name of the person I love the most. I looked down and braced myself. No Kei, don’t cry…he will come back to you… I comforted myself with those words yet tears kept falling.
“Kei-chan…” a familiar voice called me. I wiped my tears and looked up. It was the person I didn’t expect to be here. It was the person Yabu trusted the most, His best friend, Hikaru. “What’s wrong? Yabu called me…” he squatted in front of me. “Did you two have a fight?” He asked with a very worried look on his face.
“Hika…” I couldn’t stop my tears. “Why didn’t he believe in me? Why?” I put my palms in my face and sobbed.
“Maybe he just needs some time to think...” He said while patting my head.
“B-but, I-I didn’t do it! I’m not cheating on him!” I protested.
“Kei-chan…” He held my hand and pulled me to his embrace. “Just give him some time and space, believe me he’ll be back soon” Those words calmed me. I buried my face to his chest and cried myself out. He was just there. He didn’t say a single word. But his mere presence was enough to give me courage. I know I can always rely on him.

When winter comes, that tree will lose all of its leaves as well as its beauty; will our love wither just like that? Will spring come to us again? Will it let the leaves and flowers of our Love blossom again?
Nee, Will it be back to the way it was before just like that cherry blossom tree?Few days have passed. Still I didn’t hear a thing from you. Are you still mad at me? I asked myself. When this will end? Kota, please come back to me I need you…
“Kei!” someone called that call brought me back to reality.
“H-Hai?! Ittai!” I bumped into the shelf and I stumbled down.
“Kei! Daijoubu?” Daiki asked me while helping me to get up. “You’re pale, are you still sleeping?”
“Uhn!, don’t worry about me” I smiled at him as I got back to my chair.
“Are you sure?” He looked at me straight in the eyes, I know him, and he will not be convinced unless I won’t look him back straight. We were together since we were toddlers. We grew up together at the same orphanage. He is my best friend, Arioka Daiki. He is shorter than me yet he’s much bolder and adventurous, total opposite of me.
“Yes, I’m alright…” I said as I look straight to his eyes and smiled.
“Okay, just tell me if something happens. Okay?” He asked again but this time he looked serious.
“Okay…” I replied with a low voice.
“Promise me, Kei” he repeated and I nodded as a response.
Dai-chan is weird. I thought to myself, but I didn’t mind about it too much since I’m tired from work and I’m lacking in sleep. Office hours ended and I’m on my way back to the apartment but I stopped on my feet as I saw Hikaru waiting outside. Why is he here again? I asked myself because he was always there waiting for me to come home.
“Ah! Kei-chan okaeri~!” He waved happily.
“T-tadaima…” I waved back.
“How’s your day?” He was like a mother asking her son what happened at school.
“Uhh, just fine I guess…” I answered as I open the door to our apartment.
“Ohh okay, well then I’ll leave now I’m just checking on you.” He turned back and walked away.
“Bye!” I yelled and he waved. What’s with him?
It was almost every day, he was with me. Hikaru was always with me. And something about him starts to bother me especially when Daiki warned me about him. What’s with this uneasy feeling? I should trust him, because after all he is Kota’s best friend right? Or I shouldn’t?
Take care of yourself Kei; I don’t trust that Hikaru guy… Those were Daiki’s words. What is happening? Is Daiki hiding something from me?
Kei, you’re as beautiful as a cherry blossom tree, let me remove your sorrow, let me love you much more than he can give. I will make sure that you will not suffer from winter. I will make you mine, and I will trap you in a place where no one can ever get you away from me.(KOTA’s POV)
“Why didn’t you trust him?” Daiki asked me after he launched a good punch on my face.
“Why’d you do that?!” I asked while palming my left cheek where his punch landed.
“He’s not cheating on you Yabu Kota!” He glared at me then he threw the pictures wherein Hikaru was paying someone. I took the pictures and looked at it closely. “Is this Takaki?” I asked and received a whack from the younger.
“Look closely you idiot! He’s not my Takaki, He will not betray me and besides he’s rich enough, he doesn’t need to get money from that crap!” He exclaimed and I could just agree with what he said.
“Then, how can you explain that message from Takaki?” I stood up and gave him back the pictures
“Takaki’s phone was stolen that day; I asked someone to track it down a few days after the two fought over it and this is what I got. “ He showed me another picture, Hikaru was there again. Am I imagining things?
“H-He will not do this…” I said without looking away from the photo. “Hika, he will never do this…”
“Well now he already did, and you know why? Because he was in love with Kei too and YOU! You fell right into his plan! You left Kei!” He pointed it out and it struck me like an arrow. “Kei is in danger Yabu, he needs you, Hikaru is with him today and I don’t like the way he acts, save him before it’s too late if you don’t, I will do it but remember this I will not let you see him again. Mark my word Yabu Kota I’m serious.” With those words I didn’t think twice I rushed out the door and headed to where Kei is.
Kei, I’m sorry I shouldn’t have left you please be safe…(KEI’s POV) [at the apartment]
“Kei, I’ll put this down here okay…” Hikaru asked and put the plastic full of groceries at the side of the kitchen sink. “I’ll just go to the bathroom.” When he left he dropped something, a photograph, it was the same photograph that Kota has when we fought few weeks ago.
“Kei, whe---“ He didn’t finish his words as he saw me looking at the picture he dropped.
“Ne, Hika, what’s the meaning of this?” I asked him without removing my eyes from the picture.
“It is what as you sees.” He responded as he walks towards me and he has a terrifying look in his face.
“W-why?” I asked again while walking away from him.
“Why you ask?” He snorted a bit “I wonder why…” He grinned as he cornered me on the kitchen wall. He then grabbed the picture from my hand and banged it to the wall. I could only stare at him, I didn’t know what to do I was trembling. I know that I’m in danger. “I…” He continued. “I did this because I love you, Kei”
“Eh?” I said in a low voice.
“Now that you know it, what will you do?” He asked again as he leaned down closing the gap between us.
“Wha-“ I didn’t finish what I was going to say because he suddenly kissed me. “umph~ s-stop!” I managed to push him away and I ran towards the door but he’s faster than me. He grasps my arm and pulled me inside the apartment again.
“Let me go!!!” I pleaded trying to escape from Hikaru’s strong grasp.
“No! You’re not going anywhere Kei!” He pinned me down and gave me a terrifying glare as he leaned down and started to kiss me.
“No! S-stop it! Stop!” I pleaded and I did my best to push him away but failed, he’s much stronger than me. “Please Hika…stop...Please…”tears started to fall from my eyes.
“I will make you mine Kei” Kissed me in the lips and he stripped my shirt forcefully then he started to kiss me again.
“N-no…stop, please…don’t! Ahh...Hi-Hikaru…”I cried and protested as much as I can but my effort didn’t stop him from doing nasty things to me.
“You will be mine Kei” He whispered to my ears.
“No! Please…stop...” this time his hands made its way to my lower body. He started to unbuckle my belt but before he could strip it off I managed to kick him and I stood up as fast as I can but he was faster. He pulled me and punched me hard right at my stomach. That punch made me off balance and curling on the floor. I lost all my strength; I can’t move my body anymore. I was numb. I’m already weak from lack of sleep, and worse I know I have a fever. I can’t fight him anymore. Again, he pinned me down and started touching me. I could only cry as I pity myself for being so weak.
Kota, help me please… I thought, I was thinking of him. “Kota…” I uttered unconsciously and this made Hikaru pause from what he was doing.
“Why?” he mumbled “Why is it always him?” He looked at me with angry yet sorrowful expression. “WHY IS IT ALWAYS HIM!” he aimed to punch me again but someone stopped him from doing so.
“Hika…Stop this…” A familiar voice said. It was Kota. He pushed Hikaru away from me.
“Ko-Kota…” Hikaru said with a surprised tone.
“Kei-chan!” Another familiar voice, this time it was Daiki. He approached me and put a blanket around me. “Are you alright? Can you stand?” He asked and carefully guided me to stand.
“Hika…Leave now please…” Kota told Hikaru in a low tone. “I don’t want this to go further”
“Heh, you’re acting high and mighty again, Kota…” Hikaru grinned. “You were always like this huh, to all the people around us you were always the good one.” He added.
“What are you talking about?” Kota asked in confusion.
“What am I talking about? Don’t be ridiculous Kota! You were always the reason I fail!” Hikaru launched a punch on Kota’s face and this made Kota fell on the floor.
“Kota!!” I shouted as I saw Hikaru coming again.
“If you will not be mine, then” He pulled out a gun “then I’d rather kill you NOW!!” He wasn’t aiming at Kota he was aiming for me.
“KEI!!” Kota yelled as he stood up hurriedly.
BANG! A gunshot was heard. But I was not the one who was shot. It was Hikaru.
“Yuya!” Daiki exclaimed. It was indeed Yuya. He brought police with him, and they were the ones who shot Hikaru.
The police took the unconscious body of Hikaru to the hospital and promised us that they will take charge of him. Is it over? I asked myself as I look to the two tall figures in front of me. They were talking to some police investigator when I felt my head got heavy and I was very dizzy. At a few moments everything in front of me went blank.
Just like that cherry blossom tree when winter comes, it will wither and it will lose all its leaves, as well as its beauty but don’t worry, when spring came it will blossom beautifully again. Just like my love for you.
