A Video Everyone Should Watch

May 02, 2017 20:49

Jimmy Kimmel's wife gave birth to a baby boy on April 21st who was born with a congenital heart defect. This is the very moving monologue Jimmy did when he came back to the show. It's an amazing story, but don't worry, it ends happily. :>)

It was a very moving plea, and Kimmel is right. Good medical care shouldn't only be available to the rich and privileged. The government is playing fast and loose with the health insurance coverage of poor and middle-class Americans because they get theirs for free.

You are absolutely correct.

Good medical care shouldn't only be available to the rich and privileged.

Absolutely! It's downright shameful that the wealthiest country in the world (at least for now) doesn't have universal health care.

That was so moving and so real, thank you for posting about it. Jimmy is so right in every thing he said and it's shameful that Washington continues to play politics with peoples lives and health.

You'll get no argument from me about that.

Oh! You should definitely look at my latest entry. It has a simply wonderful interview with Charlie Hunnam and he looks positively gorgeous.

Thank you so much for posting this. That was awesome.

(And my niece is a pharmacist at Cedars-Sinai. *beams*)

I'm glad you enjoyed it. You might want to pass the video on to your niece to be sure she sees it since Jimmy says such nice things about Cedars-Sinai.

I love all the late night talk hosts, but Jimmy Kimmel does the most heartfelt monologues of them all.

I watched it earlier today and had to stop it twice to blow my nose. Having had all three of my babies in the NICU for at least some time (no surgeries, thank goodness!), it was pretty tough to watch, but I agree with everything he said.

How odd. I was thinking of your when I posted the video because I remember what you went through bringing your three into the world safely.

It was very moving and I felt it needed to be shared. I especially liked how he ended the monologue by pointing out how unfair our health care system is in so many ways. We really do need some form of real universal health care.

I'm so glad it all turned out alright! Wow! So much craziness to go through on the day his child is born. But hey, at least that nurse was on the ball and noticed something was wrong. I'm sure Jimmy is going to make sure that the nurse and the doctors who helped his son are going to be well taken care of as far as thank you gifts. And rightly so!

Yes, I'm sure Jimmy will be very generous when thanking all involved in his son's care.

Portions of this clip appeared on all the news shows, Entertainment Tonight and the other late night shows. I hope it makes an impact on Congress.
