I hope all my friends in the US had a lovely Thanksgiving and that everyone elsewhere had a good day, too. We ended up with 8" of snow; tomorrow morning we'll start digging ourselves out. And so another winter begins

Aren't those so cute? I saw a different one of a porcupine 'talking' a few months ago, but I didn't know they made noises until then.
I made a good dinner, and too much of it. I don't know what I'll do with the left overs. I rarely make a big meal like the ones typically done for Thanksgiving, and I forgot how much work it is. But it was fun for just this one day.
I don't think with teeth like that, I'd try to take the corn away from him. Sheesh! I guess he's tame though...or at least I hope so.
Fortunately we love leftovers, which is a good thing because I have a lot of them, too. I cleaned out my entire kitchen recently -- cupboards, drawers, closet -- and gave away a ton of things I don't need or had duplicates, even triplicates!, of. That inspired me to start doing more cooking since the kitchen has been de-cluttered. You may recall that I've talked occasionally about how much I hate to cook.
I went all out for dinner this Thanksgiving for just the two of us. I don't know why anyone would buy cookbooks these days because there's a plethora of fantastic recipes on line. I spent hours this week at AllRecipes.com. Have you ever checked out that web site?
I do know that web site! I got rid of a bunch of old cook books that my mother bought back in the 1960's just a few days ago. I gave them to the library. They were really good cook books, but I'm getting rid of stuff, and something had to go. I can look up recipes online, so I really don't need a cook book anymore. Just as you wrote.
Speaking of good recipes, here's one I used today to cook a turkey breast. It came out SO good. Best turkey I ever made, I'm sure.
Hmm, that does sound like a good recipe. I've never made a turkey breast only because hubby loves dark meat. Works out well for us for me to roast a whole bird because I prefer white and he likes dark.
I have a lot of cookbooks, but I only use three of them. I went through a period a few years ago where I kept buying cookbooks thinking eventually one would come along that would make me like to cook. Didn't happen, but I have a nice library of cookbooks now. Maybe I'll finally start using them.
I thought so, too. I don't think with teeth like that, I'd try to take the corn away from him. Sheesh! I guess he's tame though...or at least I hope so.
I had no idea porcupines made sounds like that. One of my cats purrs while he's eating if he has something especially delicious.
Yes, we had a great Thanksgiving. The snow stopped at about 8-9" but now it's very cold. If you believe the forecast, I will be below zero tonight. Brrrr!
I made the icon from a signature ladysnaps made for me years ago to use at the A & F forum. I just cropped out the rest. She got the photo from a screen cap of Elijah's movie North.
Oh yes, we couldn't survive here without the tractor, snow plow and a 4-wheel-drive pick-up truck. We use the car only when the roads are clear in the winter.
Yes, he certainly sounds as though he's enjoying it. I never knew they made sounds, but then we don't have many porcupines here. In fact, they are about the only wildlife I haven't seen around here. I know they exist in NH though.

We're dug out. There's a plow on the front of our tractor and it makes short work of plowing.
