You know, I was going to say that the scene in DoC where Shelke is confused but otherwise unaffected by Shalua's death and goes on to call the woman who died for her stupid apppears to have been mass-misinterpreted by people who do not understand that sometimes what you see is what you get. A couple of the reviews of "Some Torture" and several RL friends have basically reinterpreted the situation as being, "Shelke has gone through a lot and is severely traumatized and now she lost her sister, CAN'T YOU SEE HOW MUCH PAIN SHE'S IN?!"

Which totally misses the point of any in-game interaction with Shelke. Yes, she's been through a lot. But her reaction was to shut emotion down. She's not IN pain. She doesn't miss her sister; she doesn't even acknowledge that there's been some kind of loss. And Shelke doesn't feel any regret for belittling someone else's decision to make sure Shelke survived, even at the cost of her own life.

Does that make it right to slap her? No. But the "how could you slap a person in so much paaaaaaaaaaaaaaain?" argument carries very little weight with me, and it just irritates the hell out of me to see it.

(And yes, avoid UFB. This shit is "Where this chick's real name, I want to find her and beat some sense into her with this trusty baseball bat in my hand" levels of rage-inducing.)
