treatise: subtext in commercials

there are two commercials that stick in my head recently. join me while i skewer them, won't you?

all i have to say about this, is that it reminds me - start to finish, sight and sound, of something that probably should have been on aqua teen hunger force; not comprising a commercial for baskin robbins.

when i saw that olive garden commercial, i thought, "dad ain't working late... he's porking his secretary and mom is dragging her son out to form an alliance with him against captain d-bag..." am i too cynical???

not too cynical at all! in fact, i was pondering that there could be a sequel, where dad shows up at the olive garden with his ditz-boobs secretary and they get seated right next to mom and son - and the whole rest of the commercial is awkward, silent staring, haha!

it does seem suspicious..."on nights when dad works late..." a lot of them, are there? seems like it!
