Benefits of fighting with your spouse

It has been a few days since the big fight. It was all triggered by the $650 ticket for the beagle at large. Yermommy had several points to bring up in her distress that she had been trying to hold in for a long time in the interest of preserving the peace. I felt that at least one of them was only partly important, but some I could totally ( Read more... )

Ummm... $650 for a beagle at large??? DANG! That's overkill I'd say. SORRY!

That's kind of what I thought. It was a 3 in 1 ticket which included dog at large, dog niusance, and no doggy liscence. Each one is about 250, except beagle at large is 140.

Mom and I are so much alike in our fighting style. Monday she said you had a big fight the night before. But she said it with a tone that sounded okay, so I figured it must have ended well! ;)

That sounds nice of you both. I will have to get organized. Are you going to help me clean out the Garage?

I guess you CAN teach an old dog new tricks.

PS- On a completely different note, when they slapped with you $650 in fines, you shoulda said 'What Beagle? That's not my beagle. I don't even have a dog! Why am I even here at the pound? I think my meds are wearing off and I've wandered away from the home again. Can someone drive me back?' At which point, Bailley is left to make his own way in the world.

I learn from the master. I have a question--is the B in B.S. standing for Beagle? I was a little slow on the ticket thing. I could have waited until the time was up for reclaiming your dog and went in and paid $40 to get the dog back, but would have risked losing the little rascal and he would have been in doggy jail for a while longer. On the subject of fools spending a fortune on their pets, my banker lady had to sacrifice her Harley Davidson trip last year because she had an emergency vet bill for her dog which was over $3000. I seriously would not pay a vet bill like that for even the loveable beagle. He would have to survive naturally on his own. I had a logger aquaintance who did the same thing after his bird dog got under his truck and should have been put down, but he felt guilty and took her to the vet. It shows how fickle are our priorities when it comes to love.

We are so spoiled over here in our uncivilized community where animal control enforcement is literally NON existant. We'd be screwed in that department if we ever moved!

Is eastern Oregon just generally more lax in matters of law like that? I know in Central Oregon you can go over the speed limit on the highway without getting stopped up to a certain speed. You can't always do that in the Valley.

Yes you can. I've never gotten stopped for going anywhere below 65 mph. I have gotten stopped for 66-75mph tho :)

I think they just don't care as much in Hermyherm because it's out in BFE. Does anyone even still live there by choice? I don't think so. It's so depressing they can't motivate themselves to care if there's a dog on the loose. Hell, they probably enjoy the company! Hehehe. BURN!

Lately, yes, you can pretty much go 65 on the highway in the valley. But like 15 years ago when I was a new driver I remember the rules were more laxly enforced in Central Oregon than in the Eugene area. You could go 65 on hwy 97, but like on hwy 58 you weren't safe if you went above 60.
