KyuJong stayed up for the longest time, just watching over YoungSaeng sleep. Maybe he was worried his boyfriend would have a nightmare, and didn't want him to wake up alone from it, or maybe it was just concern in general, or fear that something else could happen while he was asleep.

No matter what happened, he was determined to help YoungSaeng recover. He couldn't listen to the nagging whisper that nothing he did would be enough.

Running his fingers slowly through YoungSaeng's hair and noting the gradual lightening of the sky outside the window, KyuJong wasn't aware of closing his eyes, hand settling around his love's waist and falling still.

YoungSaeng slowly opened his eyes to see light streaming in through the window. Waking up a bit more, he realized that he couldn't remember getting to KyuJong's room. He was on the back porch with KyuJong's mother last he recalled.

Feeling the tight hold on his waist, he carefully turned to see KyuJong asleep. YoungSaeng could see the worry in his expression even as he slept, which only served to increase his guilt. Hesitating, he gently reached out and brushed his lover's bangs out of his face.

Even as exhausted as he was, the light touch roused KyuJong again right away. Eyes half-opening, KyuJong smiled to see YoungSaeng awake and looking at him. "Hey," he whispered. "How are you feeling?" He shifted his hand to run it lightly along YoungSaeng's back.

"A little better..." YoungSaeng whispered, voice at about the level it had been when they'd first met, which matched the sad look in his eyes at the knowledge that he had fallen so far back.

It twisted KyuJong's heart in his chest to see the look in YoungSaeng's eyes, but he continued to smile anyways. "That's good." He brushed YoungSaeng's bangs back, caressing his cheek. "Feeling hungry?"

"Not really," YoungSaeng replied before curling back up against KyuJong, suddenly craving the contact.

Nodding, KyuJong shifted to gently pull his boyfriend close. "We'll wait a bit before going to see about food then?" he murmured, placing a light kiss on YoungSaeng's forehead.

"Kay," YoungSaeng murmured. He remained silent as he soaked in the care he felt from KyuJong before finally speaking. "I'm sorry, KyuJong ah..."

KyuJong blinked, pulling his head back enough to see YoungSaeng's face. "What are you sorry for?" he whispered gently, rubbing YoungSaeng's back slowly as he touched their noses together lightly. "There's nothing to be sorry about..."

"You worked so hard to help me and now I'm right back where I started..." YoungSaeng confessed, feeling himself tear up. He would have thought he'd be out of tears by now.

"Don't be sorry for that, Saengie," KyuJong replied gently, cradling him in his arms. "It's not your fault. You're not totally back at the beginning either...I was never able to hold you like this when we met."

He rubbed their noses together in an eskimo kiss. "And I'll always, always be here to help you back up if you fall, okay?"

Choking up at the clear love in KyuJong's voice and actions, YoungSaeng placed a feather light kiss against his lips before burying his head against KyuJong's shoulder. "Thank you..."

He didn't care if he'd said it before; he'd say it as many times as he could.

Smiling tenderly, KyuJong rested his face against YoungSaeng's hair and slowly ran his hand along his boyfriend's back, humming quietly to help ease YoungSaeng's mind. "Love you," he whispered softly, just resting there and enjoying the feeling of his lover in his arms.

YoungSaeng opened his mouth to reply, yet nothing came out. Pausing, he tried again. The soothing sound of KyuJong's humming helped immensely. "...Love you, too," he whispered.

The long pause hurt more than it should have, and KyuJong berated himself mentally. It was too soon. Swallowing past the lump in his throat, he closed his eyes and continued to hum, doing what he could. There were slight noises through the rest of the house as everyone else started to wake up, his mother heading downstairs to start breakfast after a minute.

Noticing the small change, YoungSaeng realized what he must have done and pulled back to look him in the eyes. "I'm sorry...I love you so much, Kyu, but I don't...I'm so scared, and I don't know why," he tried to explain. "Please, don't be mad..." he pleaded, a few tears escaping.

Opening his eyes again, KyuJong looked down at YoungSaeng startled. When tears appeared, pain flashed through KyuJong's eyes. "I'm not mad," he whispered, brushing them away and cupping YoungSaeng's cheeks. "I'd never be mad at you. Nothing's going to hurt you." He kissed his forehead lightly.

"But I hesitated. Why would I do that?" YoungSaeng asked, needing KyuJong's comfort more than ever. "You're my whole world, Kyu..."

"You've been through a lot, it's going to take a while," KyuJong murmured, caressing YoungSaeng's cheek. "It's my fault for pushing for a reply. You're my whole world too." He didn't let go, keeping YoungSaeng close.

Sighing into the hold, YoungSaeng tried to relax, only barely succeeding. "Kyu, I don't wanna feel like this anymore..." he choked out, unable to think of anything else.

KyuJong didn't know what to do. He didn't know how to help, and it was killing him. "What can I do to help, YoungSaeng?" he whispered, kissing the corner of his boyfriend's lips lightly. "Please, I'll do anything for you..."

"Can we go to the clearing...?" YoungSaeng asked quietly. He remembered how beautiful it was and how calm he felt while he was there with KyuJong.

And as much as he wanted to, he knew that he couldn't stay in bed all day.

"Of course," KyuJong whispered, hugging him close. "Do you want to go now? It'll be quiet, and the sun's just come up." He ran his fingers through YoungSaeng's soft hair.

Trying to get his emotions under control, YoungSaeng nodded his head at the question. "Can we?"

Nodding, KyuJong smiled gently before pushing up into a sitting position slowly, hands out to help YoungSaeng do the same. "Let's get changed and bundle up, it's getting a little chilly."

Looking at the offered hands, YoungSaeng slowly took them, pulling himself up into a seated position beside KyuJong. At KyuJong's suggestion, he nodded again before standing up to gather a change of clothes.

KyuJong got up to do the same, keeping an eye on YoungSaeng to make sure he was all right. Hunting around in his drawers, he found a wool sweater he liked and a pair of jeans, stretching a little and blinking the sleep from his eyes.

Grabbing a pair of sweatpants and a loose sweatshirt, YoungSaeng looked back to catch KyuJong rub at his eyes. "Kyu, did you sleep at all last night...?" he asked hesitantly.

"Hm? Yeah," KyuJong smiled at him before starting to change. He wasn't sure if it had even reached the two-hour mark, but it still counted as sleep. Pulling his sweater over his head, he sneezed when the static made his hair tickle his nose.

Blinking at the sneeze, YoungSaeng felt a soft snicker try to escape before it died on his lips. It was still cute, though.

Trying to pat down his hair, KyuJong pulled on his jeans before stretching out again. It was still early, none of the others would be up soon, other than his mother. Brushing his hair back, he sat on the edge of the bed to wait for YoungSaeng.

Slipping into the clothes, YoungSaeng ran his fingers through his hair in an attempt to work out the knots before giving up and just throwing it into a ponytail. Looking back at KyuJong, he managed a small yet shaky smile, barely visible if one wasn't looking for it.

Watching the younger boy, KyuJong smiled in return, standing. "Let's go?" he murmured, walking over to him. Opening the door, he shifted to put one arm loosely around YoungSaeng's waist. It was just a light touch, asking if YoungSaeng was all right with the contact.

Leaning into the light hold, YoungSaeng looked up at KyuJong, eyes a bit wider than usual. "Are you sure that no one's awake yet?" he asked hesitantly, allowing himself to be led out of the room.

"Positive," KyuJong murmured, relieved when YoungSaeng didn't reject the touch. "It's only my mom for now, she's in the kitchen." He could smell the beginnings of breakfast, and knew that by the time they came back in, the smell would be dominating the house. Hopefully it would coax an appetite out of YoungSaeng.

Guiding his boyfriend downstairs, he picked up their jackets on the way by, passing YoungSaeng's to his boyfriend.

Accepting the jacket, he slid it on along with his shoes and quietly opened the door, stepping onto the porch to wait for KyuJong. The chilly morning air surprisingly made him feel a little better.

"Warm enough?" KyuJong asked as he closed the door after them, shoes and jacket on. He looked out over the field, returning his arm to YoungSaeng's waist as they started off the porch and through the field towards the clearing.

"Yeah," YoungSaeng replied as they walked toward the clearing. It wasn't overly bright since it was still early morning, and it was quiet, something that he was very glad for; it allowed him to think things out.

KyuJong ran his free hand through the tall grass beside him as they walked, enjoying the quiet aside from the rustling of the wind in the grass and the faint sound of birds chirping. It helped him wake up more, though he was sure he'd be dead later on. He didn't say anything, letting YoungSaeng enjoy the calm as well as they walked leisurely.

It didn't take long before they reached the clearing. Looking around, YoungSaeng took a few more steps before taking a seat on the grass, lying down soon after. Closing his eyes, a small smile slid onto his face. He really loved it there.

Sitting down next to him, KyuJong watched his boyfriend with a smile of his own. He was glad it helped YoungSaeng to be out here. Plucking out a long strand of grass from the edge of the clearing, he ran it between his fingers, watching it wave in the wind.

"This has happened twice before," YoungSaeng murmured after a while of just laying in silence. "Me in this condition, I mean.

Looking back to his boyfriend, KyuJong rolled the blade between his fingers slowly. "What happened?" he murmured after a moment, not pressing.

"The first time led to my breakdown," YoungSaeng explained quietly. "The second was when I was still in the hospital. They thought I would try to kill myself, so they had me so medicated that I could barely function."

KyuJong's gaze saddened at that. Medication wasn't the way to deal with it, especially not that level of medication. "I'm sorry," he murmured, brushing bangs out of the other boy's eyes. "I don't know how they thought that would help..."

"In a way it did, considering I was too out of it to think about suicide," YoungSaeng replied. "Luckily, it didn't last very long before they stopped."

Pausing, YoungSaeng bit his lip before reaching out for KyuJong, wanting him closer.

"There are other ways to help," KyuJong said quietly. When YoungSaeng reached out for him, he laid down next to him without hesitation, one arm wrapping loosely around the other boy. "I'm sorry you have to go through that, YoungSaeng..."

YoungSaeng curled up beside KyuJong, feeling calmer and more secure in the older boy's arms. He'd never before been so tactile, but he didn't question it. "It's over. I'm out of there and hope that I'll never have to go back."

"Never," KyuJong whispered, cradling his boyfriend close. "As long as I have breath in my body, I am never letting them take you away." Kissing YoungSaeng's forehead, he rested his cheek against the headful of hair.

Hearing those words and feeling the truth behind them, YoungSaeng felt himself truly smile for the first time since he'd fallen to the depression. "Thanks, KyuJong ah...so much," he murmured quietly.

Smiling, KyuJong rubbed YoungSaeng's back slowly. He saw no reason to be thanked, but let it go, just cradling YoungSaeng close and whispering sweet nothings into his ear. He wasn't going anywhere.

The two simply sat there watching the sky brighten when YoungSaeng reached out and took KyuJong's hand in his, twining their fingers together. "It was all worth it, though," he said suddenly, distracted by the way their hands fit together.

KyuJong looked away from the sky to their hands, blinking. "Hm?" He smiled a little at the sight, thumb running along the back of YoungSaeng's hand and fingers squeezing lightly.

"The breakdown, the hospital, all of it," YoungSaeng responded. "It was all worth it in the end."

"How do you figure?" KyuJong played with YoungSaeng's hand, curious about the answer. His gaze went to his boyfriend's face, taking in his expression in the light of the rising sun.

YoungSaeng took a moment to think before looking up to meet KyuJong's eyes. "Without all of that, I wouldn't have all of this," he told him, motioning to the area around them, yet clearly meaning much much more.

Taking in his answer, KyuJong smiled widely. "And I wouldn't have this," he whispered, kissing YoungSaeng's forehead tenderly, holding him close with his free hand and rubbing his thumb over the hand held in his other.

Smile growing a bit wider and much more steady, YoungSaeng nodded in agreement before shifting slightly, kissing KyuJong lightly. "Love you..." he murmured against his lover's lips.

"Love you too," KyuJong whispered in return, caressing the side of YoungSaeng's face and kissing him back softly. He could feel himself relaxing as his boyfriend did, taking comfort in the fact that, slowly but surely, YoungSaeng was recovering from the depression. Breaking the kiss just enough to breathe, he opened his eyes and smiled at his lover, foreheads and noses touching as he cupped his face.

"This is the first time I've ever had someone help me through this, you know," YoungSaeng said, leaning into the hand resting cupping his face. As much as he said it, he didn't think he'd ever be able to thank KyuJong and the others enough.

"We'll always be here to help if you need it," KyuJong murmured, smiling gently. "All you have to do is ask." He kept his boyfriend close, enjoying the proximity.

"I know," YoungSaeng smiled, tilting his head to kiss his boyfriend again. "So what do we do today?" he asked quietly, just enjoying the serenity of being alone with KyuJong. As much as he treasured his friends, KyuJong would always come first.

"What do you want to do?" KyuJong asked, returning the gentle kiss. "I think the others were plotting, but I couldn't hear what they were saying." He shifted to rest his head against YoungSaeng's again, holding his boyfriend close and looking out over the field.

YoungSaeng considered their options. "Maybe we can talk to the others and see what they want to do," he suggested before hesitating. "But first, maybe we should eat something and let you get a bit more sleep. It's still extremely early and I'm sure you need the sleep."

KyuJong blinked, smiling after a moment at the concern. "Food would be a good idea. I'm fine though, if you want to stay outside or something until the rest of the circus wakes up." He was very tired, but he would follow with whatever YoungSaeng wanted.

"I think I would like something to eat," YoungSaeng replied before looking KyuJong in the eyes. "I know that I must be worrying you, but please don't push yourself," he added, smiling gently before reaching out and taking KyuJong's hand in his own.

Looking down at the hand that took his, KyuJong's gaze lifted to YoungSaeng's again and he smiled, brushing the other boy's cheek lightly with his free hand. "All right," he whispered, leaning forward to kiss YoungSaeng gently, lingering a little longer. "Let's go see what umma's making then?"

Responding to the kiss, YoungSaeng found himself following KyuJong when they parted. "Let's," he replied, getting to his feet and offering his hands to KyuJong.

Watching his boyfriend stand, KyuJong's smile widened at the offered hands, taking them without hesitation and letting YoungSaeng help him to his feet. Once he was up, he wrapped one arm around the other boy's waist before starting back towards the house, enjoying the feeling of being beside his lover.

On the way back, YoungSaeng leaned into the partial embrace, deep in thought. It was amazing that he was feeling such an improvement so quickly. The last time he'd had an 'episode', he'd been nonresponsive for almost a week, yet here it was nearly 24 hours later and he was already able to smile, slight as it was.

They reached the back porch a few minutes later, stepping out of the field. Walking up the steps, KyuJong opened the door for YoungSaeng and closed it behind them, smiling at the smell of breakfast. Turning to YoungSaeng, he chuckled. "Maybe a scarf next time," He cupped the younger boy's cheeks, red from the cold.

"Who needs a scarf when I have you to warm me up?" YoungSaeng responded, slipping out of his jacket and shoes, waiting for KyuJong to do the same. He might be recovering, but he still felt that he needed KyuJong with him to keep him calm and grounded.

A soft laugh escaped KyuJong as he hung up his own jacket, nudging his shoes to one side. "So I'm your personal heater?" His hand slipped into YoungSaeng's, squeezing gently.

"Are you complaining? Because I'm sure HyungJoon wouldn't mind. I mean, he's all but said as much," YoungSaeng pointed out teasingly. "And if Min wasn't having so much fun messing with HyunJoong, he'd offer as well."

KyuJong's lips parted in shock, before he grinned. "How am I complaining? Or more, why would I complain? Especially when I can do this." He slipped one arm around YoungSaeng's waist and pulled him flush against his body, lifting him up off the ground a little.

Yelping as he was lifted off the ground, YoungSaeng automatically wrapped his arms around KyuJong's neck to hold on. He then stared wide-eyed at KyuJong, though there was amusement in his stunned expression as well.

The time traveler just grinned at him. "You're getting heavy. Come on, let's see what smells so good." He proceeded to carry YoungSaeng into the dining room, not putting his boyfriend back down.

At the heavy comment, YoungSaeng kicked him in the shin, albeit far lighter than he could have as he let KyuJong carry him into the dining room, knowing that he'd never get his boyfriend to put him down anyway.

Yelping at the kick, KyuJong laughed as he spun YoungSaeng around once, just because he could.

"Don't drop him, dear." His mother watched from the kitchen doorway, smiling in amusement.

Tightening his hold, YoungSaeng carefully hooked his legs around KyuJong's shins, making sure to not impede his movements.

"Yes, Kyu yah...please don't drop me," YoungSaeng seconded.

"I won't," KyuJong chuckled, stopping the spinning movements after a moment.

"You might have to let him down if you're both going to eat," his mother pointed out, laughing quietly as she brought out plates of warm food.

Watching as the woman brought the food out and set it down, YoungSaeng squirmed his way out of KyuJong's arms and looked at the woman. "Ummm...thank you so much for yesterday," he replied a bit nervously.

"Anytime, sweetie. I'm always around." The woman smiled at him gently. KyuJong blinked, wondering what they had talked about.

"I'll keep that in mind," YoungSaeng replied before taking a seat, tugging lightly on KyuJong's hand.

KyuJong sat down at the tug, running his thumb over the back of YoungSaeng's hand before he turned his attention to the food. "Looks good, hm?" He picked up a piece with his chopsticks.

YoungSaeng smiled slightly before taking a small bite. He still had no appetite, but he knew that he both had to eat to return to a more healthy size, and that he was worrying the only people who ever seemed to care about him. He doubted that he'd be able to eat very much, but he'd at least try.

Eating as well, KyuJong smiled as his mother walked back into the kitchen. He'd fallen into the habit of eating as much as YoungSaeng did somehow, picking out bits of food and chewing slowly as he listened. "I don't think anyone else is up yet." It was too quiet if they were.

"JungMin is never this quiet. They're still asleep," YoungSaeng pointed out, taking another bite.

"Point taken," KyuJong chuckled. "Probably won't be long until they're up though, once the smell of breakfast makes it's way upstairs."

YoungSaeng had to laugh at that. "I'm surprised that HyungJoon isn't down here already..."

"Wait, he'll be down before we're done." KyuJong watched the stairs with amusement before turning to YoungSaeng. "It's the school play soon," he said, grinning a little nervously. "I'm not sure if we're ready."

"From everything I've seen, you guys are more than ready," YoungSaeng complimented. "I'm actually shocked that you guys were able to work Min into your play so well."

"That was the easiest part," KyuJong laughed. They'd finally stuck JungMin as the serial killer, and the redhead almost had too much fun with the role. "Thanks though. I'm hoping to get another practice in at least...I still have trouble with my lines."

"We still have time here, right? Why not practice here?" YoungSaeng suggested. "Or if you want, you can practice with me."

"That would be fun," KyuJong chuckled. "We have the papers here. Maybe later?" He appreciated the offer, extremely nervous about being on stage. "It's actually my first time being in a play...and even though I love acting...the last time I tried, I got stage fright and backed out," he chuckled sheepishly.

"Well, no backing out this time. Especially since I'll be front row," YoungSaeng told him, squeezing his hand.

Smiling wider, KyuJong leaned in and kissed the corner of YoungSaeng's mouth. "I'll just find you if I get scared," he chuckled, nuzzling against his boyfriend for a moment before pulling back a little. "Thanks."

"No need to thank me. It's the least I can do after everything you've done for me," YoungSaeng replied, smiling softly before resting his head on KyuJong's shoulder, taking another bite of the delicious food.

The time traveler tapped YoungSaeng's nose lightly. "You've done a lot for me too, don't forget that." KyuJong instinctively wrapped his arm around YoungSaeng's waist, holding his lover close as he continued to eat, humming happily.

********************************

HyunJoong woke slowly, enjoying the fact that he was able to do so himself rather than have his roommate soak him or shove him out of bed. Stretching out, he turned over before opening his eyes, only to see JungMin's face not far from his own. Jumping at the shock, he found himself observing the redhead.

It was strange seeing him so still and quiet as he slept.

HyungJoon was starting to wake up at the other side of the room, tossing and turning as the smell of food filtered into the room. It was the noise the youngest made that finally reached JungMin, previously out cold.

Shifting a little on the bed, JungMin's eyebrows furrowed slightly as he curled up a little more in a bid to escape the noise. One gloved hand somehow found the fabric of HyunJoong's shirt, and held on as he resumed sleeping.

HyunJoong blinked, face reddening as JungMin clutched his shirt and continued sleeping. 'He's...kind of cute this close...' his tired mind supplied before he closed his eyes and relaxed, not wanting to move.

There was silence again for a few minutes, until HyungJoon started moving again, louder this time. Unwillingly being dragged out of one of his few restful sleeps (having a constant energy supply made for fitful nights), JungMin clung to the material in his hands tighter, an audible whine leaving him before he had buried himself under both the edge of the blankets, and HyunJoong's shirt.

The sudden feel of light leather against his stomach drew a startled gasp from HyunJoong as he froze under the touch.

"U-um...J-JungMin...?" he asked, voice a bit higher than normal.

Not at all awake yet, JungMin didn't realize what was going on right away, trying to make himself comfortable and get away from the insistent sounds at the same time. It took a minute for it to click someone had just spoken, not only that, but spoken right above his ear, and that pillows weren't supposed to be like this.

Eyes slowly opening, JungMin gave a start, pushing himself away from the body he'd been curled up against and falling off the bed with a yelp.

Releasing a yelp of his own, HyunJoong fell over the other side of the bed when JungMin pushed himself away, smashing his head on the wall. Sitting up slowly, he winced lightly as he rubbed the back of his head gingerly. The fiery blush lighting his face spoke volumes.

HyungJoon sat straight up in the other bed, blinking owlishly. "What just exploded?"

It took a moment for JungMin to disentangle himself enough from the blankets to sit up, head spinning. Once he had done so, and gotten his messy red hair out of his eyes, he blinked at HyunJoong uncomprehendingly before it clicked just what he had woken up to.

Restraining the whine that tried to force its way out as he turned bright red, JungMin curled up on the floor and threw the blankets over himself until only his feet and a tuft of red hair were visible.

HyungJoon blinked at HyunJoong. "What was that?"

"I have no idea," HyunJoong murmured, slowly getting up and crawling onto the bed. Peering over, HyunJoong looked up at HyungJoon. "Um, I think I can smell food downstairs," he said, thinking it'd be easier to deal with the redhead if the other wasn't there as well.

The youngest perked up at that. "Food!" He scrambled off his feet and nearly wiped out on the blankets now strewn all over the place. Within seconds he was gone in search of breakfast.

Once HyungJoon was gone, HyunJoong again looked over the bed, hesitating before reaching down and tugging the blanket off of JungMin's face.

JungMin blinked up at him, squinting a little against the light. His face was still bright red. "Sorry," he mumbled, trying to hide again.

"Hey...there's no need to apologize," HyunJoong replied, as red as JungMin was. "We'll just chalk it up to being asleep, yes?"

"Yeah," JungMin nodded slowly, ignoring the fact that he had been completely comfortable where he was. He slowly sat up, the blanket falling off of him, wincing a little as he rubbed the arm that had smacked the floor hard. "You okay?"

"I'm fine, minus a little headache, but I've gotten used to them," HyunJoong joked lightly before motioning to JungMin's arm. "You?"

"All good." JungMin moved his arm around a bit. After a moment he started to stand, then realized something. Looking down at his hands, his eyes widened slightly to see he only had one glove on. "Where's my glove?" He searched through the blankets.

Blinking, HyunJoong looked around on the bed before looking around where he'd fallen. A moment later, he spotted it and picked it up. "I think I grabbed it when you pushed me," he said, handing the glove back to the redhead.

Careful not to take the glove with his bare hand, JungMin pulled it on again quickly. He stood after a moment, gathering the blankets in his arms, the red in his face having faded after realizing how close he had come to shocking HyunJoong.

"Maybe we shouldn't sleep in the same bed," he mumbled, looking down as he dumped the blankets back on the bed.

Hesitating, HyunJoong slowly nodded his head, not looking at JungMin. "Maybe not..." he replied, not knowing why the words seemed to have such a bad taste.

JungMin closed his eyes for a moment, twisting the edge of his glove and fighting back the sinking feeling. After a moment he opened his eyes again and pulled on a smile, poking HyunJoong's shoulder with one gloved finger. "Come on, let's go before HyungJoon eats everything." He padded over to the door, opening it.

Noticing it for what it was, HyunJoong smiled back a bit, getting to his feet and followed JungMin. "Kyu's mom won't let him," he responded with a chuckle, running his hand through his sleep-mussed hair.
