Smiling at the feel of KyuJong's lips against his cheek, YoungSaeng helped his boyfriend toward the clearing they were in before. It was close enough for KyuJong to not overdo it, yet far enough for YoungSaeng to not be overwhelmed by spirits.
When they reached the clearing, KyuJong stopped with a sigh of relief. He disliked feeling so reliant, but he really was having trouble walking after the stunt with their gifts. Still, it was better than passing out.
"I can't wait until our control gets better," he chuckled, leaning a little against his boyfriend. "I'm already excited for the next experiment, and I can barely move."
YoungSaeng smiled, though it was a bit shaky. While training their powers was a good way to gain control, it didn't hide the fact that he was still afraid of his.
Spotting the expression on YoungSaeng's face, KyuJong smiled before carefully sitting down, motioning for the other boy to sit in his lap. "You're doing amazing," he murmured, smiling at him.
Smile settling a bit at the compliment, YoungSaeng did as asked, sitting and leaning against KyuJong's chest, wrapping himself in the time traveler’s arms. "Thanks, Kyu yah. So are you."
Shifting so the position was more comfortable for them both, KyuJong chuckled and kissed the back of YoungSaeng's neck. "We'll get through this together," he whispered against the soft skin before perching his chin on YoungSaeng's shoulder.
YoungSaeng smiled and closed his eyes, snuggling even more against the young man behind him.
"Yah!" came a loud yell, drawing YoungSaeng's attention to the small group headed their way.
"Your mom told us where to find you," HyunJoong stated as he rolled his eyes at the girls' attempts to not squeal out loud.
Blinking in surprise at the arrival of their friends, KyuJong grinned and freed one arm from around YoungSaeng's waist, waving cheerfully.
"It's so different from Seoul!" HyungJoon dropped down to the ground beside them, eagle-spread on his back. "Do we have to go back?"
"Sadly, yes," HaRa sighed as she span around in slow circles in the clearing.
"Kyu yah, think your parents and sister will hide me? I don't wanna go back either," YoungSaeng pouted cutely, tipping his head back to look at the elder slightly.
Nicole didn't hold back the squeal this time.
HyungJoon winced, hands over his ears. "Can we lower the pitch, please?"
KyuJong laughed. "If it weren't for the kidnapping charges, I don't think they'd ever let you leave," he chuckled. "You can hide out in my room."
"Was that where you both have been till now?" HyungJoon waggled his eyebrows, and yelped when HaRa kicked him mid-spin.
Unable to stop himself, YoungSaeng smiled innocently, though the look hid something a bit more mischievous. "As a matter of fact..." he replied, allowing the thought to fade out.
God, HyungJoon was fun to tease. He also wondered how KyuJong would take it.
HyungJoon stared with his mouth open, rendered speechless. Behind his boyfriend, KyuJong turned into a tomato at the implication, stuttering on his words.
"Saeng," he protested. "One of them's gonna report back to my parents and I'll never hear the end of it."
Only after he'd said that did it occur to him he hadn't denied it at all. HaRa tripped over her own feet and fell onto her stomach.
YoungSaeng smiled brightly. "What? They never asked if anything actually happened in there..." he teased, not mentioning the extremely heated make outs that the couple had shared at one time or another.
"Did anything?" HyungJoon asked, eyes wide enough to serve dinner on.
"Quit being so nosey," HaRa whined, bright red as she twined her fingers into the grass.
"As if you don't want to know." He pointed at Nicole. "You don't see her telling me to stop."
"That would be because she's the biggest fangirl of these two on the planet," HyunJoong chuckled before yelping at the smack. "What?! It's true!"
Blinking, KyuJong perching his chin back on YoungSaeng's shoulder, pulling the other boy closer so that YoungSaeng's back was against his chest. "We have our own fans?" he murmured into his boyfriend's ear, still bright red.
There was a click as someone snapped a picture.
"I want a copy of that, too, Nicole," YoungSaeng stated as he relaxed against his boyfriend.
"Sure thing, YoungSaeng ah," the girl chirped, drawing a quiet laugh from him.
Smiling, KyuJong closed his eyes, happy to just relax with his boyfriend and their new friends. He was still recovering from using his gift anyways, so it suited him perfectly fine to stay here.
"We should start a high school scrapbook," HaRa said, rolling over onto her back and getting grass all over her clothes, not seeming to care. "And dedicate a whole section to them."
"You do realize that they want to remain secret, right?" HyungJoon laughed, squawking at the faceful of grass he earned. "What?! It's true!"
"Actually, I like the idea," YoungSaeng said quietly, surprising himself. "It'd be nice to have more than just memories of this."
After the hell his life had been, this was heaven.
"And we can hide the scrapbook from prying eyes the same way we'd hide the pictures," HaRa pointed out, smiling.
Blushing, KyuJong leaned forward a little to kiss YoungSaeng's cheek, earning squeals from both girls. "I wouldn't mind it either...I actually like photography." He had a camera somewhere in his room. Maybe he could bring it back to school with them.
"I gave it a try while I was...away, and loved it. I was just never able to afford a camera of my own once I left," YoungSaeng explained, nearly slipping.
Oddly enough, it seemed less painful as he accidentally brought it up than it had when it came up with KyuJong. Was he really growing to trust these four that much?
"Then we definitely need to give photography a try," KyuJong smiled. At the near slip, his hand found YoungSaeng's and squeezed gently.
None of the others noticed the sudden switch of words, already planning out days to get together and take many pictures.
KyuJong wondered if, given time, YoungSaeng would want to pose for a picture with him.
"I'd like that," YoungSaeng smiled before turning to the others who didn't seem to hear his near slip.
"So was there a reason you were looking for us?" he asked curiously.
HyungJoon grinned at him. "Not really. Unless you count hanging out as a reason. It's cool that you and HaRa yah live so close together, KyuJong hyung."
"Let's go exploring!" HaRa chirped, sitting up. "Let's go into the forest!"
YoungSaeng looked over to KyuJong after HaRa's request. "You up for it?" he asked quietly. He himself felt a lot better after the fainting incident earlier, but he was aware that KyuJong was just as drained, if not a bit more.
Looking at the others then at YoungSaeng, KyuJong smiled and nodded after a moment. "If you are," he replied. He had no doubt he'd trip over things at least a few times in the forest, but he was mostly all right. Just a little on the dizzy side.
"Are you sure? You're still a bit pale, love," YoungSaeng stated worriedly. The last thing he wanted was for KyuJong to injure himself.
KyuJong's gaze softened, and he nodded again. "I feel much better now," he replied, kissing YoungSaeng gently. "See?"
YoungSaeng smiled. "If you say so," he murmured as he got to his feet, extending his hand out to his boyfriend.
Taking the offered hand, KyuJong stood up, a little unsteady at first since his legs had been immobile for a while, but he straightened after a moment.
The others got to their feet as well. "What happens if we get lost?" HyungJoon asked with a frown.
YoungSaeng smiled at HyungJoon. "I'm really good with direction, so I'm sure I can get us out if I have to," he explained.
He didn't mention that it was because he would be able to sense the cemetery and get themselves to it.
"Even though you've never been here before?" HaRa raised an eyebrow in amusement. "Well, we all know how KyuJong oppa's been managing to get to class on time..."
KyuJong turned slightly pink. "If you guys are going to make fun of me," he grumbled in pretend annoyance, pulling YoungSaeng along towards the forest.
YoungSaeng laughed as he was pulled along. "Only for the first week or so. After that, he more or less got there on his own," he teased, smiling.
"That's why he was 15 minutes late one of the few times you weren't there to drag him around," HyungJoon teased. "KyuJong hyung gets lost backstage for Gods sake."
"That was only once," KyuJong muttered.
YoungSaeng had to laugh out loud at that. "Don't worry, Kyu yah. It's one of your more endearing qualities," he told him before giving him a quick kiss.
HyungJoon laughed at that, as well as the reaction of the girls. "I think they want you to do that again."
Turning around, YoungSaeng burst out laughing as he saw both girls, cameras at the ready and huge smiles on their faces.
"Yes please!" they both declared.
KyuJong flushed even more, but smiled, eyes dancing. "Should we, Saengie? First contribution to the scrapbook?"
The forest behind them was the perfect setting.
Looking to YoungSaeng, KyuJong searched his eyes to see if this was all right before leaning in.
YoungSaeng returned the smile before leaning in to meet him half way. Once he was sure they had their pictures since he heard them squealing about it, he slowly pulled away. "Lucky for you that we like you guys."
Before he could stop himself, he even found himself returning for another quick kiss.
The time traveler's laughter was cut off by the quick kiss, returning it lightly before pulling back a little, still holding on to both of his boyfriend's hands.
"Mine came out the best!" HaRa squeaked, and ran forward to show them the picture across the back display.
KyuJong's breath caught. It was almost...like a fairytale, the forest behind them with both boys leaning in, the wind blowing through their hair and clothes a little.
YoungSaeng was surprised at how comfortable he felt at the moment, KyuJong holding him close, friends nearby - even if two of them were little fangirls...YoungSaeng had to smile at the situation.
Looking away from the camera to his boyfriend in his arms, KyuJong smiled and rested his head lightly against the other boy's, feeling absolutely content.
"Let's go explore!" HyungJoon cheered, breaking up the fangirling and pumping his fist in the air.
KyuJong chuckled, kissing YoungSaeng gently before pulling back enough for them to walk. "Enjoying yourself?" he murmured, brushing bangs out of the other boy's face.
YoungSaeng grinned contently, a look that he so rarely ever wore. "Extremely," he replied as he tugged KyuJong after the others.
**************************************
HyungJoon pouted.
"Don't tell me..." HyunJoong groaned aloud as he looked around.
"We're lost," he sulked.
"Haven't we been here already?" HaRa asked, eyeing a moss-covered log. "Several times?"
So they were going around in circles. Not sure whether to be amused or resigned, KyuJong swung YoungSaeng's hand absently as he looked around. "We must have gone too far in..." All he could see was trees on all sides.
Lucky that it was dark enough to cover for what he was about to do, YoungSaeng looked around, allowing the black to flood his eyes. It came a lot easier now. Prodding with his ability, YoungSaeng finally felt the pull toward the cemetery before deactivating his power and pointing. "I think it might be that way."
HyunJoong's eyes narrowed as he felt something in the back of his mind. Narrowing his eyes, he looked around, but whatever it was seemed to have vanished.
'What was that...' he wondered, eyes falling on YoungSaeng, noticing a slightly darker hue than normal.
HaRa blinked at YoungSaeng. "You sure? Weren't we just that way?"
Able to guess what YoungSaeng had done, KyuJong squeezed his boyfriend's hand lightly. "Well, let's give it a try? Better than just standing here," he said, starting in the direction YoungSaeng had pointed out.
"Are we close?" he murmured once the snapping of twigs and leaves under their feet was loud enough to hide his question.
YoungSaeng nodded slightly as he confidently led the way, yet appeared to be concentrating on where they were going. After a little while, they found themselves near the cemetery.
KyuJong grinned widely as they stepped out of the forest.
"Woah, that's one awesome sense of direction," HyungJoon laughed.
Looking up at the sky and seeing the sun was setting, KyuJong chuckled. "Let's head back before they send out the search party." They started back towards his house.
Nodding, YoungSaeng found himself yawning as he took KyuJong's hand in his own. The day had been long, and he just couldn't wait to get back to his boyfriend's house.
They continued to talk as they walked back, KyuJong relaxed in the presence of their friends. By the time they arrived at the back door, EunAh was leaning over the porch and waving at them all enthusiastically. "Food's all ready, umma wants you all to stay for dinner so hurry!"
HyungJoon lit up at the offer before turning toward the other three, eyes wide and begging.
Rolling her eyes, HaRa pulled out her phone and called her house to let her parents know that they were eating at KyuJong's.
YoungSaeng had to laugh at the cheer the baby released, though after eating KyuJong's mother's cooking, he'd probably do the same thing.
Grinning in amusement, KyuJong squeezed YoungSaeng's hand lightly and pulled him up the porch steps and inside. As the others streamed in behind them, he saw the dinner table had been rearranged and lengthened so they would all fit, and he had no idea what his mother was making but it smelt amazing.
It was the perfect way to spend their last full day here. They would have to head back to school tomorrow.
"Sit, sit," ushered EunAh, shooing them all to the table before running to help umma. Appa was nowhere to be seen, but would probably be with them soon.
"Oh my God, what is that heavenly smell?" Nicole asked as the two boys nearly began drooling while HaRa nodded in agreement.
"Kyu yah's mother is an amazing cook. The best I've ever met," YoungSaeng explained as he took his seat beside KyuJong.
"You're too sweet, YoungSaeng dear," KyuJong's mother laughed quietly, blushing.
"And very right," his father announced as he came down the stairs, seeming to have finished washing up before helping his wife serve the food.
She had outdone herself this time, plates full of steaming food soon filling the table. It all smelled and looked amazing, and she seemed to have taken YoungSaeng's preference for spicy food to heart because at least half of the dishes were based on that.
YoungSaeng found himself smiling at the woman when he took notice of some of his favorite dishes as they were placed on the table. He truly didn't want to leave tomorrow, enjoying the feeling of being cared for in the familiar sense.
Meeting YoungSaeng's eyes, KyuJong's mother smiled warmly back before ushering her husband and daughter to their seats.
Twining his and YoungSaeng's fingers together loosely under the table out of habit, KyuJong restrained a laugh as HyungJoon bit into something and immediately started gushing compliments.
After he'd decided to try everything before him, HyungJoon looked up, eyes serious. "Excuse me ma'am, but would you mind please adopting me?"
YoungSaeng choked just as he was taking a drink.
Watching KyuJong pat his boyfriend on the back, the woman laughed. "I believe our house may be already full to capacity."
"He can sleep on the roof," HaRa suggested, amused.
"I will, too. I think my mom's trying to kill me and my brother," HyungJoon countered as he decided that eating was better than speaking.
"I doubt that is the case, dear," the older woman chuckled. "Either way, I would be delighted to make lunch boxes for the trip back to school. It is rather long."
Rolling his eyes, HyunJoong smacked HyungJoon upside the head and continued eating as if he'd done nothing.
Chuckling quietly as he watched the interaction, KyuJong took a few bites of the delicious food and played with YoungSaeng's fingers absently. EunAh was giggling happily beside him, seeming to be very taken to their friends.
After eating, YoungSaeng closed his eyes and rested his head against KyuJong's shoulder. "I don't think I'm going to have to eat for the next week..."
KyuJong laughed, wrapping his arm around YoungSaeng's waist to make it more comfortable. "You sure?"
It was great that YoungSaeng was eating more though. He was so thin, and even now KyuJong was sure he could feel his boyfriend's ribs, but they were well on their way towards helping him recover. The fact that his mother was such an amazing chef was a definite plus.
"I don't think everyone has your restraint," he remarked, eyeing HyungJoon with amusement. "We might have to roll him out of here."
HyungJoon's argument was wasted, as his mouth was full.
"God, Joonie, can you be any more of a pig?" HyunJoong groaned, feeling the second hand embarrassment.
"I think umma has a new fan," EunAh giggled. KyuJong raised an eyebrow at her. She had yet to stop giggling, a bit much even for her.
Their mother just beamed happily.
"Don't make yourself sick, that's hardly complimenting the chef," HaRa groaned.
YoungSaeng lifted a brow at EunAh before smirking and whispering to KyuJong. "I think your sister has a crush on HyungJoon."
KyuJong blinked, eyes going wide. "...Really?" He glanced at EunAh beside him, who thankfully hadn't heard the exchange. Her cheeks were tinged pink.
Not sure whether to be highly amused at the turn of events, or be a very protective big brother, KyuJong settled for just looking pointedly at her until she noticed and turned even more red before squeaking something about cleaning up and bouncing up from her seat like a jack-in-the-box.
YoungSaeng laughed quietly at the girl's reaction to her brother's look.
HyungJoon blinked as EunAh jumped up and scrambled into the kitchen. "Um, did I do something?" he asked, confused.
KyuJong laughed. "Maybe that's your cue to stop eating before you explode."
Though he was sure some of his sister's homemade snacks would find their way into HyungJoon's pockets by the time they left.
As odd as it felt to have a meal surrounded by a caring family, being around both family and friends was an extremely foreign concept to him. YoungSaeng simply relaxed against his boyfriend, reaching up once to quickly wipe the tears that he'd felt building, hoping no one noticed.
The older boy shifted slightly to make the position more comfortable, thumb slowly stroking the back of YoungSaeng's hand as he listened to the chatter. Feeling the movement, he smiled faintly but didn't comment.
Even after dinner finished and they managed to pry the food away from HyungJoon, they just talked, the atmosphere so relaxed and peaceful. It was too soon when the doorbell rang, announcing the arrival of HaRa's father to bring them back to their house.
The group had to laugh as HyungJoon all but clung to the stair railing like a lifeline.
"Joon, you have to let go," Nicole said, holding back her laughter. "KyuSaeng look like they're gonna fall asleep and you're blocking the stairs."
"The couch is right there," he muttered before sighing and letting go.
YoungSaeng had to blush at the nickname the girls had come up with when they'd first met.
They went out onto the front porch to wave goodbye as the group finally piled into the waiting car, Nicole and HaRa calling that they'd see them on the bus back tomorrow.
Waving, KyuJong tried not to laugh as EunAh popped up beside him to say goodbye as well. She must have thought she was being sneaky by slipping that goody bag into HyungJoon's bag while they were prying him off the stair railing, but at least half of the group had seen.
Once they were gone, YoungSaeng met the girl's eyes and winked at her, telling her that he knew and thought it was cute.
EunAh just turned beet red and retreated back inside.
Watching his parents head in as well, KyuJong wrapped his arms around YoungSaeng's waist, listening to the crickets chirping in the tall grass. "Tired?" he murmured, kissing him lightly.
YoungSaeng felt himself lean into both the embrace and the kiss. After a minute, he nodded his head. "Yeah. With all the power training, I'm still drained."
Nodding as well, KyuJong kissed him again, long and sweet before leading the way inside. "Let's get some sleep then. We'll have to be up early to catch the bus."
Nodding his head, YoungSaeng followed KyuJong inside and up to his room. Once behind closed doors, YoungSaeng turned back to his boyfriend and brought their lips together. "Thank you so much for bringing me here," he murmured before kissing the elder again.
Returning the kiss, KyuJong brushed his thumb lightly against YoungSaeng's cheek. "Thank you for coming. You're always welcome here," he replied quietly, smiling against the other boy's lips.
"It's nice to feel welcomed somewhere," he replied quietly.
Gaze softening, KyuJong kissed him again, taking the time to make sure YoungSaeng knew he was much more than just welcome in their lives...in his life. Running his fingers slowly through the other boy's hair, the time traveler held him close. "I love you," he whispered.
"I love you, too."
Melting under the touch, YoungSaeng parted his lips in invitation.
Taking the offer, KyuJong responded in kind and let their tongues meet, the intimacy almost second nature by now. Fingers trailing from YoungSaeng's hair to the small of his back, his eyes fluttered shut as he enjoyed the contact.
YoungSaeng wrapped his arms around KyuJong's neck as he allowed his eyes to close, loving the feelings flowing through him from just being with KyuJong.
Deepening the kiss for as long as he could, KyuJong finally pulled back slightly so that they could breathe, noting how uneven that breathing was. "You know, if we don't stop we might never get to sleep," he murmured with a faint chuckle, kissing the corner of YoungSaeng's mouth.
Unable to hold back the words, YoungSaeng whispered, "I don't care if I never sleep again. I don't want to stop...” He did, however, pull away a bit, realizing that they needed to sleep. The blush was bright on his face from saying such a thing, though.
Flushing as well, KyuJong couldn't stop the smile that curled his lips upwards, nor how he leaned across the distance between them to kiss YoungSaeng sweetly, letting him know that he didn't want to stop either. Nevertheless, he slowly pulled back, cupping YoungSaeng's face lightly. "Let's at least get changed," he murmured, voice gentle.
"Yeah..." YoungSaeng said, pulling away to grab one of KyuJong's shirts. He'd taken to wearing his boyfriend's clothes to bed, something that he knew amused the other.
Smile growing, KyuJong bit his lower lip slightly before finding something to change into as well. Pulling off his shirt, he replaced it with the tank top instead and slipped out of his pants, trying not to turn into a tomato like last night and failing.
YoungSaeng dropped the pants he was preparing to slip into at the sight of his boyfriend changing, blush coming to his face. He was amazed. KyuJong's legs just seemed to go forever.
Chancing a glance at YoungSaeng when he was done, KyuJong flushed a dark red when he saw YoungSaeng staring at him. Suddenly shy, he retreated to the bed and hid under the sheets until only a tuff of hair was visible.
Smiling brightly, YoungSaeng walked up to the bed and crawled under the covers with his boyfriend, curling up beside him.
When he felt YoungSaeng join him, KyuJong smiled and shifted a little under the covers so that he could wrap one arm around the other boy's waist. He was far enough down under the sheets that he could rest his head against YoungSaeng's chest, curiously listening to the beating of the other boy's heart.
Chuckling at KyuJong's surprisingly adorable side, YoungSaeng relaxed fully, burying his face in the older boy's hair.
Slowly KyuJong's eyes started to close, exhaustion from using his gift pulling at him. As he started to drift off, he hummed a soft tune into YoungSaeng's chest, a gentle lullaby. He just felt so peaceful.
Nearing sleep himself, the soft hums coming from his boyfriend drew another smile onto his face. "I love your voice," YoungSaeng whispered.
Smiling as well, KyuJong nuzzled a little more into the other boy's shirt. "I love you," he whispered, closing his eyes. It took only a moment for him to fall asleep, nestled comfortably against his boyfriend.
Relaxing completely as he fell asleep, YoungSaeng whispered an 'I love you' before finally falling asleep.
