Elementalist families are very usually strict with marriage. They want their youngest Elementalist to marry someone who would accept and protect their family secret, as well as bring honor to their names. Traditional, arranged marriages are favored. Same-sex marriages are not tolerated at all; you can't continue your family line with a gay relationship, and families would never except the idea of having a child with someone who wouldn't marry you after (such as a surrogate mother).

I'm wondering in your Absolute universe, how does a person turn someone into a vampyre or lycan? Does it involve just a bite? Lol sorry, I'm just very curious.

Oh, good question xD I forgot to put that in...

Turning into a Vampyre here is similar to many other stories. A Vampyre has to drink your blood, and you have to drink a Vampyre's blood in return. It doesn't necessarily have to be the same Vampyre for both actions, but the actions do have to occur within a certain time frame of each other, usually a few hours. So if you're bitten by a Vampyre, and two months later you drink a Vampyre's blood, you won't be Turned.

Sometimes Vampyres can have two Sires (one who bit him/her, and another who's blood she/he drank).

For Lycans, there are conditions to be met as well. You have to be Turned on the full moon. Any other day of the month and you'll just have a really nasty bite mark. And you have to be bitten (scratches or other injuries don't count).
