DongHae had been on the phone for nearly half an hour, chattering away, and EunHyuk still had no idea who he was talking to. Sipping at his soda, he stretched out along the park bench as he waited for his friend to finish the call. It was just them for the moment; the group of four had needed to head back to EeTeuk's hometown when his father fell sick, but crowding the bed hadn't helped anything so they were both kicked outside for now. Aipom was swinging from tree to tree overhead, and Mudkip was splashing in a water fountain in front of them.
"Nah, we're not going back for a while...we're at the other end of Aspen," DongHae laughed, swinging his legs over the bench arm and dropping his head into EunHyuk's lap. EunHyuk tweaked his nose, DongHae trying to bite at his fingers while paying attention to the phone call. "Meet us halfway? No? Well, what's got your-Oh. Oh, okay. Uh...one second." DongHae looked up at EunHyuk. "Hey, you know where Team Rocket's headquarters are?"
"....What?" EunHyuk looked at DongHae like he'd sprouted two extra heads. "No, why would I? Who are you talking to?"
"Saengie, he's back in the Cove! And TR grunts made off with his Eevee. Nah, Hyukkie says he doesn't know," DongHae said into the phone, lips pursed. "Go ask around Acacia City? Oh, you just came from there. Okay, uh...oh, I know!" He sat up quickly, bonking EunHyuk off the nose with his forehead. EunHyuk yelped in pain, one hand over his nose.
"There's that...Hawthorn Town, you know it? Yeah, yeah, that tiny one with the gym everyone forgets. They always see Team Rocket, we went through there a couple weeks ago and apparently they get attacks every couple days. It's not that far away, only a couple days, right? Go there!"
"He'd have to get across the river," EunHyuk said, tilting his head back and pinching his nose to stop the bleeding. "Does he have a swimming Pokemon?"
DongHae relayed the question, and pouted when the answer came. "No? Saengie, I'm hurt, you've been my friend for so long and don't even have a water Pokemon ye- ow, okay," he winced, holding the phone away from his ear. EunHyuk could hear the angry reply coming from the speakers. "He's not in a friendly mood."
"If his Eevee was grabbed, no surprise, Eevee's his baby," EunHyuk said, trying to see DongHae without moving his head. "Tell him to ask someone in town to give him a lift, they probably owe us some favors, and we can't go all the way there now."
"You said you're with Onew, Saengie?" DongHae asked, putting the phone back to his ear once YoungSaeng had calmed down. "Yeah, the guy with the potion supply! He's got a swimmer, ask him for a lift."
"...Are you sure leaving him with Onew is a good idea?" EunHyuk mumbled.
DongHae ignored him. "He agreed? Great! There's your lift! Good luck Saengie!" He hung up the phone, grinning at EunHyuk. "Oh, he's gonna kill me after this."
"As long as he kills you and not me," EunHyuk shook his head, still pinching his nose.
The door to the house behind them flew open, KangIn rushing out. "Get the doctor!" He yelled.
DongHae jumped and scrambled to his feet, EunHyuk doing the same. The doctor was just down the street. Seeing the look on KangIn's face, DongHae took off, Mudkip racing after him.
"What happened?" EunHyuk spared a moment to ask.
"EeTeuk's father went into cardiac arrest."
