"Oh no you don't, you're not getting away this time!"

With a battle cry EunHyuk charged after the Sentret escaping through the tall grass. His Aipom followed through the trees, chattering in glee.

"You can do it Hyukkie!" DongHae cheered, flailing his arms around.

"I think it's supposed to be the Pokemon doing the chasing," KangIn leaned back against the trees. "What's EunHyuk doing?"

"I'm just...not going to ask." EeTeuk had both hands over his face, unable to watch.

"Aipom, use fury swipes! OW, not on me!"

"So are we just supposed to stand around and watch?" KangIn chuckled, straightening and looking around. "Maybe there's some rare Pokemon hiding around."

"But we should support EunHyuk," DongHae said, looking back at him. The Mudkip beside him nodded sagely.

"Support him getting his ass handed to him by his own Pokemon?"

"Guys..." EeTeuk looked up from his hands. How did he end up babysitting this bunch? "Aren't you at all worried?"

"About?" Both of them asked, looking back at the oldest.

"...About that?" EeTeuk pointed behind them at the large fence they'd scaled to get this far. It went up and down through the forest as far as any of them could see, and was complete with a large "KEEP OUT" sign.

"Why would we be worried about that?" DongHae asked, turning away and yelling, "Keep going Hyukkie you almost got him!"

"Huh?" EunHyuk looked up from his spot on the ground, claw marks down his cheeks and arms. Aipom sat on his head, giggling gleefully. That was when the trainer noticed the same Sentret watching them from the safety of the grass.

"Get back here!" Scrambling to his feet, EunHyuk ran after it. The Pokemon squeaked and hurried off.

"Stop!"

EunHyuk had to put on the brakes before he could run right into a stranger blocking his path. The guy was shorter than him, hands on his hips and stern expression on his face. "What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be here!"

The other three had caught up by then. "Who is he Hyukkie?" DongHae asked, blinking.

"This is a Pokemon Sanctuary, and I'm a ranger," the short man replied. "You aren't allowed to attack or capture Pokemon here, please leave." The tag on his uniform read 'RyeoWook'.

"But..." EunHyuk looked over the ranger's shoulder and saw the Sentret laughing at him from the safety of the grass. "But that Sentret's taunting me! It's asking for it!" he whined. Aipom whined along with him. "Just him, can I just catch him?"

"No," RyeoWook replied, not moving.

"Go get it Hyukkie," DongHae called. "What's this guy gonna do? He's puny!"

"..." RyeoWook's eyes narrowed. "Tropius, please remove these trespassers from the property."

A tree shifted next to them, and EunHyuk found himself looking up. And up. And up.

Oh. That wasn't a tree.

Next thing they knew all four of them were being picked up and dropped back on the other side of the fence, EunHyuk landing on his stomach with a squawk.

"Ow, my head," DongHae whined, Mudkip draped across his back.

EeTeuk was set down on his feet thankfully, blinking at the large Pokemon on the other side of the fence. The ranger patted Tropius' leg before they both turned and disappeared into the trees.

"That sucked," EunHyuk staggered to his feet.

"How about we not climb over fences next time you feel like chasing a Pokemon," KangIn grumbled, cuffing EunHyuk off the head. The younger trainer yelped.

"But..." EunHyuk scowled when he saw the Sentret watching from a tree on the other side of the fence. "I'll get you!" He shook his fist at it, Aipom doing the same from his trainer's head. EeTeuk was positive the Pokemon was mocking EunHyuk rather than agreeing with him.

"It's a Sentret, there will be another one in ten minutes," the oldest gave a long-suffering sigh, looking up at the sky as if it would sympathize with him. Next town, he was leaving this lot to fend for themselves.

Except they'd probably get themselves killed without him. Why was his life like this?
