Decisions, Decisions

Well, I finally decided to start working on my master's degree. Earlier this week, I applied to an online program at one of the state schools. I still have some more paperwork to turn in, but by January 8, I'll be studying Methods of Educational Research and Statistics (i.e., fucking MATH) and Historical Foundations of Educational Thought and ( Read more... )

Hoorah for entire week off! Goodluck with the novel. I know how hard it is to get personal stuff done when you are busy with a million other things (although, I would probably just spend the week sitting on my butt with all that freedom.)

As for the masters, good for you. I too am putting off decisions about grad school. I do not envy you the math you will now have to take part in. *shiver* Math. What most scares me about grad school is having to take the friggin GRE. I seriously havent done real math since 11th grade. I will shame my family with my test scores.

Thanks. I feel like I should feel like I'm accomplishing something, but I just feel... eh.

Math and I don't play well together. I got a BA so I wouldn't have to take more than College Algebra. I'm not looking forward to taking the GRE either. I'm not worried about the verbal score, which is what the school will be looking at primarily. It's just taking standardized tests, period. I haven't taken one in nearly seven years. The last test I had to take was the Praxis II. I had to take that in order to get my teaching license. I spent $180 dollars to take that blasted test! Not looking forward to spending even more money on the GRE, CAAP, and MAT.

Why, thank you! It was created by an artistic genius by the name of Kathleen. Maybe you've heard of her?

To you know the expression "eternal student"? That's me. (it's not expensive to study here (for a term about the half of my monthly flat-rent). I'm a master of procrastination - :) (that should be a certificate!) so I admire you resolution!

"Historical Foundations of Educational Thought" sounds very interesting!

I wish it was inexpensive to pursue your education here in the States. This is an online program I'm entering, so it' won't be as expensive as it would've been if I were actually taking classes on campus.

It sounds interesting, but it also sounds like I'll be writing a lot of papers, too. I'm also interested in curriculum, so it should be okay. I'm NOT looking forward to Stats, though.

I've never liked math. Strangely, it was my favorite subject to teach when I was still teaching third grade. Go figure. I definitely hope Stats won't kick my butt too hard. I would still like to be able to work on my writing. I've gotten pretty slow about updating my fic as it is.
