Charlton Helston is dead. I think what impressed me most in the news article is that he was married to the same woman for 64 years.

♥ S.A.

But, the images I've managed to glimpse of your reorganizing do not bring to mind this sort of insanity, no.

I have a pile of boxes in one corner of the garage. It was far worse than it is.

I think my husband has read too many stories about people that exhibit the worst case scenario of the packratting behavior. The ones where piles of their whatever topple on them and kill them.

That's hoarding and a real mental disorder. She's got birds too. :/ Unfortunately, a lot of hoarders also hoard animals. It's not something that can be cured, either. They go to treatment, then they come back home and start all over again.

Based on what that guy had to say, it's either a learned behavior or a genetic issue as well.

I couldn't see the pictures in that link.. but I was married to the KING of packrats. There were times that he had accumulated so much crap that I couldn't walk in with a clear path. He had windshields, car hoods and other parts in our living room. Piles and piles of CDs, papers from him printing stuff from the computer, tools all over the place. Every single room was piled high with junk that he had accumulated.

It's soooo much more peaceful being out of that mess!
