Finished poking through the book on Scottish Clans. Last printed book I have to read is due May 11, the illustrated version of DaVinci Code. On Chapter 48 of the Life Expectancy audiobook

Things that make you go hmm.... the new profile set up for AOL no longer shows who is on AIM and who is AOL.

Give it time. If I recall, when AIM first came about back in the earlier versions of AOL, you couldn't tell then either. Every time they update their system with something new, something always gets overlooked. They'll probably fix it up to the point of you being able to not only tell which program people are using, but how long they've been on, how many people they're talking to in IMs, and other such privacy destroying elements. Such as the new addition that tells people how long someone has been a member and how many people have looked at their profile. Just wait ... it'll change again. It always does. And damn ... I shouldn't be subconsciously giving the programmers more ridiculous ideas.

Irony... they've removed those things from the AOL setup, but AIM has always had some of them. While you can't tell what, if any, public room someone is in if you are logged into AIM, you can tell if someone is using AOL, the internet via AOL or another internet source or what they refer to as... Unconfirmed internet. AIM also tells you how long someone has been on and what features they can use.

That joined date can now be shut off by most users not just those on 9.0 SE.
