Yay! No more quals! My 60-min talk turned into 42 min as predicted via me talking too fast. And the profs weren't too mean in the questions and basically I just got patted on the head and told to get up off my rear and start writing stuff up. And I am now done jumping through hoops until the actual thesis defense! Hurrah and rejoicing. Where by ( Read more... )

Thanks :-). Unfortunately there's still craziness associated with advisor tenure-midterms and abstract submission deadlines and the like. However, I'm fully intending to confine that craziness to nice short ordinary working hours. Which means I get to go home tonight and do absolutely nothing productive all evening... mmmmm.... TV and junk reading here I come!
