“Can you fucking believe it?” Leon laughed, bursting into D’s shop. “It’s snowing!”
Both D and Chris were on their feet at this announcement.
“Really? Chris turned to D, face radiating excitement. “Can I go outside, Count? Please.”
“May I,” D corrected primly, “And, yes, you may.”
In a matter of minutes, Chris was bundled against the cold and gleefully scooping snow into small piles to make a snowman.
Leon stuffed his hands in his pockets and grinned. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”
“It’s more than beautiful,” D murmured, as Leon joined his brother in an impromptu snowball fight. “It’s miraculous.”
